I don't even pay attention to lots of pop cultural stuff, and I know him. He was on those Sprite commercials that were all over the place.

Anyway, to answer your question, he's a garbage pop-artist that sullies the craft developed by men like Eric B., Rakim, and Chuck D. Also, he was on Degrassi, admittedly one of the finest shows of our time.

I've been to plenty of rock concerts where I definitely got enough second hand pot smoke to feel it. I imagine a rap show is similar*.
