Not the 9ers, because "Lamar and Russell Wilson do stuff that defenses just can't defend" and that BAL and SEA both "addressed their problems." Them with Peters, ours with Quandre.

Meanwhile, Skip's saying the Hawks are trash, of course to bring up last year's game against DAL.

The defeat, coupled with a Seahawks win on Monday night over the Vikings, drops San Francisco from No. 1 all the way to No. 5 in the NFC playoff picture. Yep, the top of this conference is as loaded as we've seen in recent memory.

#facepalm

Just thought this was a particularly stupid line. The fact that three teams are so tight for the 1 and 2 spots is pretty remarkable. The fact that a one game difference drops you from 1 or 2 to 5 is just a fluke of the system that rewards teams for winning their own division.

FWIW I would rank them

#1 - Baltimore
#2a - Seahawks
#2b - Niners
#4 - Saints
#5 - Texans
#6 - Bills
#7 - Chiefs
#8 - Vikings
#9 - Patriots
#10 - Packers
# basically irrelevant - everybody else

Meanwhile, ESPN drops Seattle to 5th and bumped SC up to 2nd. And their whole blurb is about Carson and fumbling? What week is this?

So the Niners lose (to a good team) and they RISE in the rankings.

Seattle wins (against a good team) and drops in the rankings

Seattle and SF have the exact same record, yet Seattle beat them in THEIR house, and SF is 3 spots ahead?

What are these rankings based on exactly??

According to 49ers whinezone, the Seahawks under Pete Carroll are simply and inexplicably lucky whereas the 49ers are just a good football team.

I suppose but 3 teams at 10-2 and one at 9-3 is pretty impressive after week 13.

The lowly Cowboys bring the whole thing crashing down but otherwise the NFC playoffs are going to be a stout group of teams. One of SF or SEA will be the 5th seed with likely 12 wins or more. The Vikings could finish with 11 wins as a 6th seed.

NFC is pretty loaded at the top. AFC has BAL, NE, KC, HOU and BUF as its best teams and I can't buy anyone but Baltimore beating an NFC contender in the playoffs.

Indeed, but the argument that the drop "from 1, all the way to 5" is somehow indicative of a loaded conference is ridiculous. The same situation would occur if the Saints were 3 games out of 1st, the Packers were 4 game out, and the Cowboys were 6 games out, and only the Niners and Seahawks were a game apart. It would be a slightly better argument to say it is indicative of a top heavy division.

Well, at least they're consistent. They thought that in 2013, too.
Funny thing about Pete and the Seahawks...the harder they work, the luckier they get.

Cant stand to listen to Colin Cowturd, he's a contrarian and flip flops pretty much everyday depending on which way the pendulum is swinging, but he gets his ratings and clicks that way so more power to him

Yeah, since 2010 it's been a lucky run.
Imagine that.
According to the Denial Zone Seattle is the luckiest team to walk the face of the earth.
Some of those same clowns post here.

Really? Ive always thought he was partial to the Seahawks. He was very vocal when we lost in 40. He was Very vocal in 2015 when we beat Minnesota when others were saying we got lucky. He jumped to our defense saying that we held them to 9 points so you cant discount that etc. Ive always felt he was partial to Seattle.

If I had to pick a dream SB opponent, I'd love to kick the Patriot's teeth in, in front of 100M viewers and send Brady off to the nursing home.

But a re-match with the Ravens would be a great game. So from Colin's lips to baby Jesus's ears.
