Well, the old adage is: "correlation does not necessarily mean causation."
........... an adage too often overlooked.
As a follow on ............. It takes a team of two gap linemen to make a 3-4 work. Big Al Woods, as the only legit 2 gap lineman on the roster, can't do it all by himself. Sure would be a helpful to have a young Red Bryant and others to rotate onto the field and mix in with one gap linemen.
Add to that, the observation that as one of Pete Carroll's faster teams, this 2022 team can sometimes find itself overwhelmed by a more physical team ... as we just witnessed. Especially in the trenches facing a meaningful Raider running game that includes the use of an effective fullback.
In less than two weeks, a rematch with a talented and physical 49er team will provide even more information. They present an even more talented fullback who will see even more snaps. Speed can be offensively countered with heavy personnel groups. The 49ers have the potential to once again manhandle and sweep the Seahawks in 2022. Aside from that being a huge game with the division leading rival, it should be a very instructive match up for many of us.
