Simmons to Giants for a 7th round pick. Isaiah Simmons was the 8th pick in the draft in 2020. He's 6' 4" and 238 pounds with 4.39 speed but sucked as a LB. The new regime was in the process of shifting him to be a Kam Chancellor-type strong safety, but they seem to have given up on him. No guarantee with those high draft picks!

Trading the guy who was drafted 8th overall 3 seasons ago for a lowly 7th rounder is bad optics, I'm sure Arizona wanted to avoid that, but had no better offers.

Giants need to find a replacement for Julian Love still.

This is crazy to me, isn't he still on his rookie contract??

But, but, but, he ran a 4.3. Laughing at myself more than anyone. He was a “sure thing”.

I knew Simmons was a tweener, but I must admit I thought highly of him at the draft, and thought he would have had a better career than he's had so far. He was a beast in college.

I wouldn't write Simmons off just yet. Remember Minkah Fitzpatrick struggling to make an impact as a sort of tweener? He looked lost for the first 25 games or so of his career.

Going to a competent coaching staff that has a plan on how to use him might help.

I remember he balled out against us a couple years ago.
