On offense, our pass blocking didn't improve with Lock, but our receiving remain a force. Interestingly, our run blocking and rushing both ranked #11. PFF opined that our weakness in offense are pass blocking and passing.

Our defense made a big jump, without Jamal Adams and Woolen, improved to #17 from #20. Run defense and tackling still among the worst in the league. But coverage jumped from #18 to #12.

Overall, our coverage and running game both stepped up.

The Hawks definitely will be drafting a ILB or two and safety for sure in 2024. Have to fix the center of the defense to keep up with the physical teams of the NFC.

If only the defense could regularly play against QBs who were sick for the week. Credit where it's due - the Seahawks were exceptional against the pass.

I thought the tackling was much better although I have not looked at the tape yet

DVOA Offense #12, Defense #24... what the heck happened to the defense? They started the year so promising and were stopping the run, but now have regressed.

What happened is players started to free lance and poor tackling technique. Discipline is very important on defense because mistakes are magnified.

Hawks do need more talent on the inside of the defense on all three levels. I think the Hawks are fine on the DL on the inside with what they have. But ILB and S need some serious upgrades.
