    12 travel tradition

Lots of 12s at Met-Life stadium yesterday, which I expected. But I was surprised by the number of folks I talked to that had flown in from Seattle for the game. At least a dozen that I chatted with had made the trip. Percentage wise, that tells me that there were many, many more. I even met...

Anyone notice how J.J Watt broke his nose??

The trainer was putting pressure (and a cut pen) on the cut trying to stop the bleeding. If you have proof that the nose is broken, cite your sources.

Anyone notice how J.J Watt broke his nose??

He didn't break his nose. Cuts across the bridge of your nose like that typically happen when your helmet rotates forward and the top part (where the facemask joins in) comes down and hits you. To visualize this, imagine a bowl on your head. Now rotate the bowl forward until the forward lip...

Seattle fans Over 30 years Old Thread

48 years old... started following in 1985, after living overseas (family work/travel.) Never had a local affiliation since we moved so much. My goal was to get away from the Giants bandwagon (my dorm mates were obnoxious,) so I picked the team the furthest away from NY that I could. 48 years...

Rumor - Matt Flynn trade imminent

We already have enough money to resign Kam. You don't needlessly weaken a team with SB potential. Unless the deal blows our socks off (and fixes the now GAPING hole at backup QB) you don't make this move.

Rumor - Matt Flynn trade imminent

Flynn is one of the top backups in the game, and he knows our team and our offense. The backup market has been picked clean. Name me 3 guys available as free agents right now you'd rather have than Flynn. Please be specific.

Rumor - Matt Flynn trade imminent

Trading Flynn for a 4th or worse makes no sense whatsoever. This would make the team weaker immediately. A team with legit SB aspirations and a rock solid QB situation trades away security for a late round pick...? I don't see it. Got to be at LEAST a 3rd...and I see some sort of escalator...

    Peter King on Matt Flynn

Not sure why more people don't propose the concept of a conditional draft pick. All the pundits are like "He's worth nothing more than a 4th or 5th". The way these things get done is almost always conditional on play time/quality of play. I expect the same thing to happen here.

Wilson better than Luck, RG3? Gil Brandt weighs in

If Clemons knee is signifigantly injured

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned o-line as a need, after the recent deluge of sacks.

    Joe Buck & Troy Aikman

Didn't Buck and Aikman do the 2005 NFC Championship game? I recall liking that broadcast quite a bit.

Will anyone be traveling to any of the away playoff games?

I'll be going to DC, and taking my wife and daughter. We'll be keeping it extremely low-key. Ninja stealth-mode. I've been to DC for Seahawks games several times, and never had a problem - but this is the first with the kid. (GoHawks)

Close to being a completely different game.

The effect of any of those plays seem a lot less stark than a drop at the 5 yard line or a key first down pickup that puts us in FG range. It's also hard to substantiate the effect of a hot start by a rookie QB being squandered and the loss of momentum that occurred. The Seahawks were...

    I don't expect a repeat...

Revisiting this prediction, I am actually glad that I was wrong about the conservatism. The Hawks did allow Wilson to pass a decent amount early on - and it worked - until drops derailed the gameplan. Unfortunately, the stats turned out to be bad as a result, and the offense sputtered as a...

Close to being a completely different game.

The "Game of Inches" cliche contains more than an ounce of truth. Turn half of those drops into catches, and the Hawks maintain drives and score more points. Between the Turbin and Moore drops, we probably lost at least 7. One of the Tate drops probably cost us at least a FG. This leads to...

    I don't expect a repeat...

I just don't think Wilson will be allowed to try the sorts of things he did last week with anything close to the same frequency. This is a different defense and offense we are going against. And if the numbers aren't as eye-popping, you can be sure we will hear Flynn's name come up again...

    I don't expect a repeat...

The Hawks allowed Wilson to air it out last week. I suspect they did this both because they felt the need to keep up with Brady and the Pats, and the suspect secondary allowed for it. This week, I expect a return to the knock down, drag out conservatism that we all know and love. :shock...
