Lions QB Jared Goff agrees to $212 million extension

Goff doesn’t seem to me to be the kind of QB that can carry a team through adversity. He took a stacked, well-coached team to the precipice of the finish line, and was stoned by one of the most brilliant defensive minds and game plans of the last era. When it was up to him to carry the load, he...

    Predicting home opener

Looks like Soulfish wins this one @RiverDog Jacksonville will be doing another two-week stint in London, taking on Chicago in week 6 and NE in week 7. Jacksonville must be the red-headed step child of the NFL. They just keep getting shipped internationally every year. 2024 will bring them...

NFL Season Opener - Ravens at Chiefs

Sweet. It's hard for me to make the Sunday night games.

NFL Season Opener - Ravens at Chiefs

On paper, it's a great way to open the season. I really prefer that critical games like this happen after the first 25% of the season, once teams get into their groove. Obviously that leaves open the possibility of injuries affecting the outcome. Pick your poison, I suppose.

    Stealers Looking for a WR...

I doubt we will be out of the running either, but if, at the half way point, it is obvious that we aren't close to competitive, even if we technically could still make the playoffs, I would consider us to be out of the running at that point.

    Stealers Looking for a WR...

If we are going to trade DK, I would only do it late in the season, to some desperate team, and only after we are out of realistic running for a playoff spot. Then, we might be able to package our top 10 pick, along with the round 1 pick we get in the trade, to move up into the top 5.

    DK rumor's

If Pittsburgh, Lockett would make more sense. He was always Wilson’s security blanket after ADB left. Metcalf never seemed to gel with Wilson’s sandlot style, though they had a good connection on uncontested, tiptoe on the sideline for no good reason, plays.

    Geno for Cousins?

I thought the pre-draft, dead zone of, "well, I'm a 'journalist,' I have to write SOMETHING to keep my job, was over by now.

    Jamal Adams whispers

I would be ok with it on a very team friendly deal. I feel like we have enough holes to fill that his presence won’t meaningfully take away opportunities from our new generation of players. Anything more than vet minimum doesn’t make a lot of sense for the Seahawks. Let’s not waste cap space...

Has the ship sailed again ?

History suggests that it is a smart plan if you want to go to the Super Bowl in the current era. QB is your most expensive position, and eats up your salary cap, making it hard to build a team around him, unless he is on his rookie contract. Holding on to “franchise QBs,” after their rookie...
