Agree everyone else was stop gap or utter failure, Kitna was the only one I think that could be added to that list.
Why is that a better question? This is basically an all time Seahawks QB list. We get it. You’re not a Geno fan. Again, this is a thread about ranking Seahawks QBs, not other teams backups.
Comparing Geno to say Krieg who statistically isn't that good, but QB for a long time, played in a different era, and led a few highlight years -- is impossible. Like, easy to argue franchise impact for Krieg, but as far as the QB position, Krieg didn't have many outstanding statistical years where he threw for far more TDs than INTs. His highest TD year was 32, but he threw 24 INT that year too. His best ratio was an 18:8.
It's pretty evident you have some huge bias against Krieg when you try to tear him down by using such an obvious exception to the rule. Marino never reached those numbers again, and nobody else came close to having a season like that during Krieg's prime. The season he did that, the second-most TDs thrown was Krieg with 32. Next was Joe Montana and Neil Lomax was 28, and nobody else had more than 25. There were just three QBs who hit the 4000 yard mark. The very next season, Marino dropped to 30 TDs and 4137 yards (only 4000 yard passer that year), both of which led the league. Kreig's 27 TDs tied for second. Then in '86, Ken O'Brien's 25 TDs was second in the league. It was clearly a different era.
