No one mentioned here qualifies as a "surprise", except Dallas. He's not getting cut. He's pretty much the only RB that hasn't been hurt frequently through his years here. While he may not be spectacular, he's solid in all 3 aspects of the RB position.
A surprise would be someone like Lock or Bush. Maybe Dareke Young? He was ok last year, but really worth a spot given his C+ performance?

I haven't been able to follow the pre season at all unfortunately, so a quick question about cuts..

How has Jerrick Redd out of UNM played? Any chance he makes the roster? I have no idea how he's been playing and haven't heard much about him.

That Lobo has played well in the opportunities provided him. He has become more noticeable with each succeeding game. Numbers might not look good in a rather crowded backfield. Practice team for sure if he clears waivers. Then again Adams, Blount and Sutherland are all working their way back from injuries. We should have some clarity by Wednesday.

Dallas sucks though. If he’s our main RB, we are lucky to get to 50 yards rushing.

Reed's status is an interesting question. The scouting staff loved Jerrick Reed, but I think Reed has been outplayed by Jonathan Sutherland who has been more physical than Reed. His roster spot is also threatened by Coby Bryant's switch to safety and Joey Blount, who has been playing well. (Not to mention that Julian Love and Jamal Adams are ahead of him on the depth chart.) But with Blount possibly injured, and Sutherland himself being dinged up, I think that Reed will make it, at least onto the practice squad.

Ok, but how many times have we depended on that 50 yards?
I'm not saying he rules, but he stays on the field.

You suck as a poster

lol DJ Dallas is not good. Couldn't produce when starters went down. the ultimate definition of a JAG.

I agree @Chukarhawk

I want to like Dallas (hard worker, durable, experienced, few mistakes, some ST contributions) but he's simply not a good back in this league. I'm confident that we could find an unsigned FA who could produce similar performance if needed.

If I were a betting man, Dallas makes the roster and we stash McIntosh on the practice squad. But it would be hard to fault a decision to cut Dallas in order to carry a guy with a lower roster hit, longer term contract, and more upside.

Waived one day after Seattle played its preseason finale were tight end Sal Cannella, defensive end Jordan Ferguson, receiver Malik Flowers, cornerback Benjie Franklin, receiver Justin Marshall, cornerback Chris Steele and running back Wayne Taulapapa.

I would be hugely surprised to see Dallas get cut. I would also be surprised if we don't keep 4 RBs in the 53, although one might not suit up every game. He was almost exclusively the producer for our entire first scoring drive vs the Pack, is our best return guy, and also plays STs on coverage. I don't see any way Dallas isn't on the roster come game time.

I agree. 4 RBs, not including Bellore if he stays. I don't think they hang Mac out to dry either.
