Dickson not being a Pro Bowler proves our point that the Pro Bowl is little more than a popularity contest and doesn't nearly show the true deserving players enough each season.
Dickson was beyond deserving, but the guy he lost out to plays for the Jaguars.

This was All-Pro anyway, which is supposed to be more credible, but this seems like an egregious snub. I thought AJ Cole was a lock and hoped Dickson's late season tear would get him in the second spot. Somehow neither made it.

Chris Jones voted all pro:
37 tackles
5 sacks
20 qb hits
9 tackles for loss

Leonard Williams, Who didn’t even make the Pro bowl:
64 tackles
11 sacks
A pick six for 85 yards
28 qb hits
16 tackles for loss

He literally almost doubled him on a few of these. It’s beyond ridiculous and actually to the point of fraudulent as to how Jones made it over Williams.

Proof positive right there it’s a popularity contest.

That and market. KC is the IT team right now. All you have to have is a pulse and some of their scrub players will make at least the Pro Bowl.

Seattle has wasn't very sexy this year, so it and its players will be ignored for bigger markets.

The Geno stans will be happy to learn that he finished tied for 4th in the voting among quarterbacks:

1. Lamar Jackson - 109 (30 first place votes)
2. Josh Allen - 78 (18)
3. Joe Burrow - 13 (2)
T4. Geno Smith, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, Sam Howell, AROS, Betty White, Jimmy Carter, Blair Walsh, Kirk Herbstreit's dog, others - 0 (0)

You can mock Betty White but she registered a sack and 2 hurries against the Seahawks O-Line this year.

Dickson is the biggest snub. I can't believe Williams isn't on there either.
Dickson was first team All-Pro in his rookie year, 2018. Even though he's improved since then, he hasn't been named All-Pro since because so many great punters have come into the league since then: Jack Fox, Bryce Baringer, Ryan Stonehouse and Blake Gilikin, not to mention two guys who came in around the same time as Dickson, AJ Cole and Rigoberto Sanchez.

This year, Dickson averaged 49.4 yards per punt and 43.8 net yards per punt, both phenomenal numbers, but Jack Fox of the Lions averaged 51.0 and 45.8. In fact, 3 punters averaged over 50 yards per punt.

Dickson is at the same elite level, having averaged 50 yards a punt last year, but it will take a good year plus some luck for any of those punters to get the All-Pro nod now, given the insane level of punting talent in the NFL.

You’re right I went and looked it up and those guys are monsters. I didn’t realize the position has gotten so good!

I think the Pro Bowl should be voted on by stats only. Raw data gets you in, not a popularity contest.

That's basically what it is already. Raw stats lead to more legitimate snubs than anything else. Then you're prioritizing opportunity over doing the often unappreciated things that lead to winning.

We get it. You hate everything about the Seahawks. I get the impression we could win 10 straight Super Bowls and you would still complain about everything Seahawks related
See I think all the fans who don't mind Groundhogs Day every year without ever getting closer to post season success are the real haters.

I’m old and don’t remember when it wasn’t. It’s like the pro bowl having some meaning - the game is eventually going to be so commoditized it will lose all of its meaning -

I mean, we are one of the most successful franchises since 2012
THREE playoff wins Since the Super Bowl loss. A lucky missed fg by the Vikings. A near loss to a backup QB for Philly and a win against an injured Lions team.

MOST successful? Lol.

Arguably his best pick the last 8 years, spoon, didn’t make it but the guy HS passed on did. Gonzalez. Who I’m still shocked Pete didn’t push for at 6’4 and a freak athlete. He seemed like a Pete CB
he grew 3 inches since the draft?
