He was an All American tackle at Texas. He wanted to play tackle in the NFl, but Dallas put him inside. If Fant can’t go, would this be an option with Olu back at C?
Yep. He seemed to do well there. If we can get a functional LG we'd have a decent left side to work with. Other teams would have to shift to that side to help stop the run on that side, taking a little pressure off the #33-ranked right side.I would think you want the experience at Center left where he is.
I was wondering if there was a chance Oluwatimi could play some RT. I think he has TREX arms .He was an All American tackle at Texas. He wanted to play tackle in the NFl, but Dallas put him inside. If Fant can’t go, would this be an option with Olu back at C?
I was thinking Olu at RG.I was wondering if there was a chance Oluwatimi could play some RT. I think he has TREX arms .
That makes more sense .I was thinking Olu at RG.
I doubt Haynes is a better option, he couldn't even beat Bradford out. And who knows what happens if Olu only has to focus on his assignment, and not have the responsibilities of a center.
Meh, football is football these guys change positions all the time and play multiple positions. Olu struggled with the line calls at the nfl level not the physical aspect so moving to guard will not be hard. Maybe he needs to add 10 pounds. If it was guard moving to center than that takes at least a year. Olu and Haynes are built very similar. The Rams were juggling their offensive line against the lions and still almost won.Who knows what happens?
No one, because he's never played guard. Ever.
Haynes couldn't beat out Bradford week 1. That happens. Olu hasn't been able to get playing time either, whether behind Evan Brown or now behind Connor Williams (after Williams spent no time with the team in the offseason).
I'd try the guy who has not only a track record at guard, but is also just a much more talented overall prospect, at his natural spot before I'd convert the backup center to guard. That just doesn't make sense.
Why release him in the first place, should have just kept him made him starting RT from the beginning.Speaking of "changing position". I just read that they were hoping to re-sign Dee Eskridge as a right tackle. He is fast and could get in "under the pads" of a pass rusher...
Imagine him as a lead blocker for K9 on a running play. : )
