Why Isn't Russ Playing?

Russ is trying to get his new contract done before the season and does not want to get injured and throw a shadow on all his Guaranteed money.

I do get that Rat but if ever there was a QB that needs a little preseason love with his new team it's Russ. But hey, what do I know?

I agree with you; he should have at least gotten a few series, I'm just saying it isnt unusual and I wouldn't assume he' wasnt out there simply because he didnt want to be. His new coach came from a team that never brought their QB out in preseason.

Andy Reid always plays starters in pre season.
Aaron Rodgers has not had time either.

Should we really be holding Rodgers up as an example for other NFL players to model their behavior after?

Russ is seeming more and more like a diva.

Russ isn't running a new offense and doesn't need to familiarize himself with how his new receivers run routes...

Because he plays one style of offense - his.

And his wr's likely won't get the ball running their routes as much as they will when the play breaks down and it's all about the scramble drill. A fly and a post ... there isn't much variability there between players.

He can do that anywhere and on any team at any time. Change the jerseys, change the coordinators, change the coach, change the receivers. Russ will play Russ-ball.

He doesn't need the practice.

Street ball and sandlot is all he can do,those cement cleats won't allow
the extreme version we used to see years ago.
