Was Witherspoon a better pick than Carter?

Ithere wasn't a DB in this year's draft that is as good as Spoon is

Quinyon Mitchell is playing better than Spoon. Eagles always seem to hit on these guys.

Carter plays like Tarzan but has a background like DMX.

As I posted right after the draft, it immediately came out that even Carter’s own coaches at Georgia had bad things to say about him. That was the nail and the coffin whether or not they were going to select him. You just can’t take that kind of risk with that high of a pick.

I like having guys on our team that are easy to root for. Spoon is one of those players. He loves the game and gives his all on each play. Also, he has yet to reach his ceiling... the best is yet to come.
Dudes like Carter, let's just say it's a lot harder to cheer for a dirt bag. I get the feeling that he might flame out, whereas Spoon will become a perennial Pro Bowler.

Spoon's pass pressure got us that pick 6. He is a monster on every play. I am definitely a fan

Right now I would say that both picks are hits. Carter seems to have a little bigger ceiling but also a much much lower floor.

At the time of drafting:

Witherspoon: his slight of build might be a risk. He could be an injury risk and misses games.

Carter: his character and conditioning might be risks. He could play himself out of the league

Both worries didn't happen, just wish that we could have both

Mitchell has been phenomenal. Fewer than 30 yards allowed in seven straight starts, and has been completely shutting down receivers.

Both are tremendous though. Spoon is exciting as hell to watch.
