I expected much, much better. Not so much record-wise, but performance-wise. I knew the OL was going to continue to be an Achilles Heel, I knew Geno would continue to be under duress, but nearly with half the season over I never thought we would be struggling this much stopping the run and running the ball.

Perhaps the most alarming to me is the bad angles, poor tackling and missed assignments. These were the fundamental basics I expected a defensive guru to really help clean up by mid-season. I am still in the camp of letting Mike evaluate and build the team the way he wants which could take up to three years or so. In that regard I am not hitting the panic button yet.

I just expected to see a sounder club by this point in the season on both sides of the ball.

This year has a lot of people freaking out. I think the real up-and-down nature of the season (3 straight wins, 3 straight losses, followed by our best victory, immediately followed by our worst loss) has got people straight up losing their minds.
Exactly. The lack of consistency is killing fans. Consistently bad is easier to deal with than the roller coaster we have been on. Finally think you've turned the corner in Atlanta?? Here comes Buffalo to plunger rape you. That is HARD to cope with as a fan.

I went on record, not in this forum but rather in another, with this preseason prediction just before the opener:

Broncos W
Pats W
Fins W
Lions L

Giants W
Niners L
Falcons W
Bills L

Rams W
Niners L
Cards W
Jets W
Cards L
Packers L
Vikings L
Bears W
Rams W

10-7 and a wild card entry.

So far, the only game I missed on was the Giants game. Outside of that, the season has gone pretty much as I expected it to. I see no reason whatsoever to be panicking and getting all worried about Macdonald, Schneider, etc.

Buffalo KILLED us with yards after contact. Play after play after play we made contact at LOS or even behind it only to see the ball carrier slip through for 5-8 yards, sometimes even more. Our tackling looked much better in the earlier games but has taken a nosedive since. Basics must improve if we will overall.
Jarran Reed offered a clean shot in his latest PC and I see his embrace of a more prominent leadership role as a big plus.

Everyone who wants to fire JS needs to look around at who is available as a replacement and identify your choice. There is a ready market for JS if HE is available.
I liked "the churn" of Offensive Linemen under early PC.

These guys get paid Millions, or close to it, and they can't block a guy for 3-4 seconds? They can't win 70% of the time? If a DL wins 30% he is a good journeyman. If he wins 40% he is a superstar. IOW, the average lineman can win 60% and he is on the bubble for unemployment. THIS CAN BE FIXED... my percentages are off I know.... the concept is correct though.

They're not getting beat because they suck. They're getting beat because they don't know what they do or who they are as a team, and they're not making progress toward actually finding an identity.

My response to this is,,,,,this is the NFL. These players have been playing football their entire lives. I have a hard time believing they don't understand technique or have no understanding of schemes. They should be able to implement those things by accident at this point. I truly believe that they are just undermanned by talent deficits.

Spoon is elite. So is K9. Cross is trending towards elite, imo. Murphy is absolutely going to be an elite player. I have little doubt about that.

Ehh Soul, we had a good run (lol), but I disagree with you here. Spoon is good, but he's not a lockdown. I like Walker more than most, but he's no Barry Sanders back there and he's often injured. Cross has a ways to go before throwing the word elite around. Murphy,,,,,a little early on him isn't it?

Seattle has no elite players currently. DK has the most star power and even he isn't elite.

You have a right to that opinion. I stick to mine.
Me thinks no matter WHO they have, you'd say they have no elite players.
Disagreeing is no biggie to me.
Then again, some act like Geno is or ever was Elite. :ROFLMAO:

What's the defenition of elite? I guess that's where we might not agree. Elite is the best of the best. I see no current Seahawks in that category. There have been plenty in the past, just no currently.

Come on Pitt, you don't think anyone on Hawks is more than just average. Just own it hahahaha.

Dear God, we will argue over anything on this site. It's impressive.
It's cold outside! No it isn't! And is it......Elite cold?
