I'd love to see Jerrell out there, but I seem to recall Stone Forsythe was surprisingly stable last year when he had to step in (well, he didn't look great early on in games, but he settled down eventually). What we need is Abe back.

A couple of thoughts:

Did we invest draft capital or cap space on Stone? No! Did he surprise us by developed into a starter? No!

Did we invest draft capital on Bradford, Olu and Haynes? Yes! But they haven't flashed.

I am more concerned with our drafting on interior linemen.

An offensive line is only as strong as it's weakest lineman...a proverb from the egyptions I think.

Once they closed the gaps...which if you re-watch the game, you can see the difference from the start to ~mid-2nd qtr, the G's firmed up more consistently. Stone was the biggest problem after that. He is slow to get to an edge with a wide 5-tech DE and was blown-up on multiple plays by DE bull rush. He's 6'8" and 307, which I think gives him leverage problems. He's 4" taller and ~10 lbs lighter than the average OL. He's athletic enough to get to the 2nd level at times, but misses the guy at that level.

I have concern about the G's still...but RT is our weakest link at this point.

I will bring up a name that will cause some of you to lose your lunch . . . Germain Ifedi was cut by the Browns at the end of the preseason. Now on the Brown's practice squad. Just sayin'.

Last game was a tale if 2 halves. As mentioned above, the interior tightened up and establishing the runtime helped all shortcomings. However, there was 0 tape on this Offense before last game. Perhaps the adjustments can be maintained and we'll see more play like the 2nd half. Perhaps opposing Ds will study the tape and prepare for the weaknesses and adjustments. There's a reasonable chance any change in personnel (or use of the 9M in restructure) comes after game 2.

Believe it or not, Ifedi would be an upgrade in pass protection...but he still isn't good in the run game. We have to get a RT that can do both moderately well. If he is the only candidate available...maybe. But I'd look hard at the rooks and scour the p-squads before making that move.

If Stone has to play this week...maybe he can get coached up. It's in our best interest for that to happen...but the odds are slim.

We need to remove 3.5 inches from his height and bulk him up about 20 pounds, because he's a bit Manute Bol-ish right now.
