Who is better then Stone Forsythe. There has to be. It's really hard for me to believe there isn't someone sitting at home who is better. Anything would be an upgrade

It's pretty crazy, right? I was actually thinking the same thing. There's NOBODY better than what we have with Laken and Stone? In the whole world?

Yeah, you've got to think that in the XFL or CFL there is some diamond in the rough with some potential at least. Bring them in, stick them on the practice squad and see if you can coach them to better than these guys.

I can't believe we all don't have jobs with the Seahawks, choosing O-linemen off the trash heaps of other teams and leagues. :p

Forsythe is a solid swing tackle. JS just needs to invest in starters who can stay healthy and/or don't have chronic knee issues.

Not sure why Forsythe is getting the heat, from the stadium he looked decent - especially factoring in that he's our backup LT subbing in as the emergency third RT.

A real problem was our guard play (Bradford and Tomlinson). They both had a rough day in pass protection and Geno looked uncomfortable in part because the pocket often wasn't there to step up into.

Our rookie blocking TE (Barner) also struggled a fair amount in his first NFL action IMO.

I was always taught if you do not understand something, break it down. Just for clartiy...

Solid? If referring to his physical state, he is mostly liquid contained in a membrane. So I think that suffices to say he is solid.

Swing? If referring to his function, like that of a gate, then it is about spot on. Simply trigger his latch and he swings open allowing you to pass.

Tackle? If referring to the potential result on our QB when he plays, this makes sense.

So what I hear you say is Forsythe is like a water balloon serving as a gate on the o-line which is causing his inabiliy to protect the QB. If so, I hear 'ya man.

If you are referring to his skills as being solid, I will ardently but respectfully disagree based on his performance in PS and yesterday. Maybe he has a deep understanding of both tackle positions...but he still needs to perform or that is about worthless.

Id rather have McClendon Curtis there. He should at least improve over the season. We know what Stone is.

A swing tackle is a backup that can play both RT and LT. Historically, Stone has graded out as a below-average starter, making him an excellent rotational depth guy. Considering he's our 3rd string RT, he played reasonably well.

Thanks for the common knowledge statement of a swing tackle. There may be some on the board that do not understand.

Yea...still not understanding the logic here. Grading out as a below-average starter does not make him an excellent rotational depth guy.

Grading out as a capable, but not stellar OT that can function near equally in both the RT & LT position would more closely fit the bill.

Considering he's our 3rd string RT, he played reasonably well.
He sucked!

I rewatched the game last night and Bradford just got punished and looked lost. I think he even fell one time with no one around him. He needs replaced me thinks.
