Geno basically will go wherever he can get the next long-term contract, but following Pete to Vegas? Let's see what Vegas got, would he be missing out on playing in the SuperBowl by not staying in Seattle?

Hawks:
Pretty good at skilled positions except TE, OL sucks.

Raiders:
Better OL but still need C and RT, great TE but need WR and RB

On defense:
We are way ahead of the Raiders on defense personel.

It is no small matter to send away your team captain and undisputed starting quarterback after you just won 10 games and have a locker room that wants to compete.

If they send Geno to Vegas, it'll need to come with significant recompense.

I am assuming Macdonald and Schneider read dot net to gauge fan preferences :)

I don’t disagree., I think a 4th gets it done, I would be over the moon if we could pry a 3rd away from Vegas

a cap friendly extension makes the most sense. I doubt the raiders are willing to take on Geno's contract hit. I think we're currently $25M over the cap? somethings gotta give.

I read that the Raiders are under cap, by a lot. Even if they find a savior class QB in the current draft, signing a vet makes sense so they won't have to rush the rookie QB into starting.

With Pete going to Raiders I do think the possibility for a trade went up by a lot.
I doubt John would take anything less than a third. I would guess he wants a second. Geno is worth a second imo.

Even Carroll must realize he doesn't have a lot of time left. He needs a vet QB he can trust.

I just read two different articles (By people I have never heard of) say Steelers will not bring back Russell Wilson. I'll believe it when I see it from a credible source but both of those articles are less than 2 hours old so they are new. Just found a 3rd basically stating wilson done in pittsburgh.

Have you been reading .NET? Geno is a cut candidate, getting a 5th is like (.....) you can fill in the blank.

Two different situations. We have significant cap issues Raiders have oodles of cap room and a huge void at QB. Plus a coach who is not going to wait around to fix that issue.

Pete's is counting on Macdonald to go with a QBOTF and cut Geno and Lockett, he is always hoping for the trade of Woolen, who is an instant upgrade over Bennett.

I can't imagine Raiders would want to give up anything that makes this move worthwhile as a trade, but depending on how John and Mac feel about next season (my opinion: They should be planning to win, but that's me) trying to get some sort of compensation might be worth it to also move on from Geno's cap hit.

Yeah, current projections are about that (we'll see what the cap actually ends up being), but if we release George Fant, Roy Robertson-Harris, Dre'Mont Jones, and Tyler (sadface), we'd already be out of the hole without doing any magic with DK and Geno's contracts.

But I agree, an extension similar to what he most recently signed makes the most sense in terms of what we could do with his contract.

Accordng to those ratings Geno is the 3rd highest rated player on our team (after Williams and Walker) and the 9th best QB in the league. Surely we need 2 first rounders plus change to consider any trade.

Pete will know exactly how much the front office value Geno and I don't think they will sell him cheap.

Not saying I agree with Geno's ranking I would probably put him around 15th and we don't have the draft capital or cap space to get anyone close to his standard for next season. If we sell Geno for a 3rd rounder we are probably looking at 6 or 7 wins next year.

Aiden O'Connell is just as competent of a placeholder as Geno for whoever they might draft and he has been with them for several years. I don't think spending draft capital on a 35-year-old QB is a good fit for what they probably want to do.
