I haven't been in the camp calling for his head but this team is going nowhere with this offensive line. His undervalue of the guard position is a major concern. This was a great game we could have won with decent oline performance. It's sad to see the talent wasted by this offensive oline. Maybe I'm a little inebriated. I don't care. Blow it up minus Cross. Inexcusable.

Every GM has to pick some areas where they devote fewer resources, but I have always felt that the seahawks under Pete undervalued OL. It really does all start in the trenches, so my opinion of him has gone down because of it.

IMO you make sure the OL is good so you can stick any RB back there and keep the entire RB group under $5M. What's the point of using a bunch of resources (draft picks or salary) on RB just to have them fail behind a bad OL? The QB and RB both benefit from a good OL, which also helps the WRs.

It all starts in the trenches.

Right. Teams run for over a hundred with rbs that I’ve never heard of. Running backs don’t pick up 4th n 1 o-lines do

Year after year our OL is bad. To hear him say last off season , interior lineman are overrated, just to once again see a crap line again. That lost it me for him.

Schneider definitely deserves the most blame for how he has constructed this offense. He literally built it around skill positions(WR and RB) and the OL was an afterthought/his eye for OL talent sucks. Building it the opposite way would in the least make it an average offense. He went high with Cross but the rest are either late round guys or mid round busts like they have been the last 14 years with him, i'm not sure how much of that you want to blame on Pete. You build OL/DL first. The Holmgren era seahawks had mid level talent at the skill positions but they were an above average-great offense because of that OL.

The worst part is not paying a couple good FA's if you're not getting them all in the draft. You do what you have to to do to build a competent line one way or the other.

Imagine if we drafted a rookie QB and he had to start his career behind this line? Should be illegal.
He’d be Bryce Young with no chance. I’ve lost my confidence in JS, especially as the previous poster said. Overvalued….give me a break. It’s turning back into a running league and we suck at pass blocking on top of that.

This is why I don't get people calling for a new QB. Id be all for a young guy if we had a line but we don't so what's the point

Schneider is now the one true head honcho and everything is on him. This looks like a job that will take years. Establishing the o-line, finding the QB of the future will not happen in one offseason. At the same time we have the skill players and most of the defense to win now.

Difficult spot to be for him, and I, like many others, am starting to wonder if Schneider can deliver. All eyes are on him.

The upside is we can't lose next week. Maybe after a week off and with everyone healthy, the Hawks/JS/MM can get back on that 3-0 winning streak at the start of the year.

Schneider absolutely deserves criticism. It is beyond me how the guy who has run the front office for 14 years has gotten such a pass simply because Pete had the final say on player acquisitions.

John even said this during his radio show in the offseason. He runs the scouting department. His department evaluates, grades, and pays players. He's a massive part of why their roster looks like it does.
