He took two dudes out, here:

And showed he can get a body on someone shooting a run lane and turn them:

As the game went on, he looked less and less like a rookie.

All good news on our OL are welcome, the next two games will be telling as opposing DC and DL coach will adjust.

I'm feeling actually hopeful about Laumea. I liked him coming out of Utah. He definitely needs to be better at not getting pushed back into the QB, but his ceiling as a run blocker is high.

If Laumea can keep run blocking with this kind of effort, he will get better at pass pro. I also thought K9 missed some holes up the middle trying to bounce runs outside. But I don't blame him he's been getting blown up in the backfield all year.

PFF have him a failing grade about 30, and Oluwatimi a 50. I strongly disagree.

I think those 2 played pretty well, and that PFF isn't familiar with what the assignments are.

I didn't get that either. 29.3 to be exact. I didn't see that at all watching the game. That is a damn low score, like turnstile, getting crushed every play score. I didn't focus on him the entire game but I can tell you if he was playing that poorly, everyone would have known it.

Eh.. K9 missed holes on a couple runs though and made it look bad.

Yes he did.

Accompanying that is a trust factor.

Does the running back trust his blocking?

It could get better as a new right guard and recent change at center benefit from more playing time together.

Grading OL is one of the hardest things on the field. I agree that PFF may have misjudged what the assignments were. After all, the OC/OL coach are trying to disguise those in the design of plays. Overall, I though protection was pretty decent and improved since a few games ago, especially right up the middle where it disrupts the QB the most.

I know PFF tries to be objective, but OL is difficult.

The Head Coach mentioned Laumea got off to a slow start and improved as the game unfolded. A feature of game plans is that of targeting specific players in search for possible weaknesses. On defense, Josh Jobe was a more obvious game plan target.

It was a mixed bag from what I saw. There were several pass plays where he's not blocking anyone, which was either a blown assignment or bad communication. And on a few running plays, he was blasted backwards. But I did see him hold his own on some plays as well. I can't say I focused that much on him so it would be interesting to rewatch the game and analyze how he did.

Think he's the starter for the rest of the season. While I don't get PFF, I'd give him a 75 PB and a 65RB.
It would appear that PFF wasn't impressed with his overall performance on Sunday. But it's only one game, let's see how he does in Glendale this weekend.

That first video looks textbook to how analysts point out how lineman helping out on the first level and then getting to the 2nd level to block a LB
