No doubt. Basically, traded Geno for Darnold and Milroe. And having Milroe learn for a season can be huge. Some of the greatest QB's we've ever seen started on the bench, learning and waiting their turn.

This isn't exactly true. Sam Darnold was about last in the league in time to throw--3.08 seconds. That put him 34th among QBs last year, during his best year. That's partially why he was sacked 48 times. That time to throw is the stat that worries a lot of Seahawk fans.

Well that's also why this offense will be better for him as it would get the ball out of his hands quicker.

Not sure if Geno/Metcalf were dead weight in terms on on field production (Geno for sure in the RZ, haha), but they were malcontents. Their attitudes are what got heat put on them. To the point of enlisting No-E to buy into their rhetoric, who by all accounts was always a team first dude.
You got a point, it wasn't just Metcalf and Geno, it was a trike of Metcalf, Geno and Lockett. They are all gone for a reason, to allow our OL, aka Schneider Line to develop
Darnold was brought in by the current regime to be the guy (for how long is up to coach), but they upgraded by subtraction on the team first, culture building aspect of the team. So, perhaps Geno/Metcalf were dead weight in terms of behavior. Excited to see what leadership he brings to the table when things get tough.
Shackles and dead weight on our OL, otherwise, why trade them when they are still under contract?

Although I haven't been a Darnold supporter, I will say in his defense (and also in defense of @glenwo2) that never has a QB with Darnold's stats (35 TD passes, 102.5 passer rating) ever come to a team and faced such skepticism from its fans. I mean, I think Jets fans are more excited about Justin Fields, for crissakes.
Some of us are more scared of an Andy Dalton than we are of a Justin Fields.

I certainly watched it and saw a Vikings team get absolutely run over.

KOC (Kevin O' Connell)did nothing to mitigate what the Lions did the previous game (as the Rams copied and pasted their gameplan)..zero adjustments...and got plain out-coached by McVay.

Even if Darnold got his head on straight in that game, he still would've had next-to-no-chance.

Most people consider Geno the better QB pre snap and post snap processing is faster. Darnold is a better pure passer to a point because he isn't as accurate as Geno. The truth is that Darnold needs a lot to go right for him to completely drop dimes downfield. But like R. Wilson, he doesn't have the feet to extend plays but he is a better passer between the hashmarks compared to R. Wilson.
Boy I would say that is NOT a Geno strength. He just couldn't read a defense to save his life. He struggled to get the ball out quick and threw late a LOT. He is awful pre snap.

We did not win. Say what you want. Darnold was better in every facet.

You need better than good.

Fair point.

But this particular offense (provided it works like a charm) may not require Darnold to be what he was last season (in terms of eye-popping stats and what-have-you).

Well, we shall certainly see.

I'm not averse to Darnold succeeding. It means the Seahawks succeed.

If Sam can sign in March and become a franchise QB by April, it's safe to declare him a member of the Ring of Honor and await his induction into the Hall by preseason. Good work people. We can shelve our DarNOld signs and poorly punctuated manifestos attesting to Sam's status as not the guy. All that remains is basking in the glory of what The Darnold has achieved for our franchise and act as though we achieved it ourselves when interacting with fans from other franchises. It is known!
