Cal day off. Maybe they are starting to realize the burnout may have started. He just needs a couple days off per 10 games and maybe a couple DH days as well during that timeframe.

The last time they gave him a day off was June 8. He followed up that day off by hitting .160 with 0 HR and 1 RBI over his next 7 games. Just saying...

It's a fine line with some guys. Obviously you don't want to wear him out, but you probably don't want to mess with his mojo too much either. Personally, not a fan of the idea of a couple days off plus a couple DH days per 10 games. That's taking Cal out from behind the plate 40% of the time. Cal makes a huge difference to this team, and the pitching staff, behind the plate.
