I think playoff contender once again next season, but still got some things to clear up. Following season a legit force, but missing an element or two and/or lack of experience in a key area or two. The following season is the window of opportunity. IF a QB is drafted this offseason, then accelerate my prediction by one season.

Every year I say the schedule isn’t so bad, but, every year Seattle manages to say, “hold my beer,” and drop 4 games against teams they should have beat and then another 3 or 4 definitely against playoff contender teams…..

Seattle could be anywhere from 9-8 with a ceiling of 12-5. Just another mid tier team unless they get a new franchise QB, cause Geno, is a mid tier QB that cannot ascend higher, let’s be honest!

You're not wrong on Geno, and he is paid to be middle of the pack. So, who realistically would you like to replace Geno with?

I'm somewhere in between options 2 and 3.

The first two poll options strikes me as too short term focused. We're currently over the cap in 2025 with some bad contracts, still need to find an OC, and still need to come to an agreement with key FAs such as Ernest Jones. A bit of patience and long term thinking is warranted as we load up on youth and move on from the bad contracts, even if that means growing pains at first.

That being said, I also wouldn't rule playoffs out next year given what we know about the schedule. We play the AFC south and NFC south in which the division winners only matched our win total and every other team had a losing record.

I don't see the elite teams of 10ish years ago until some serious holes were filled. Start with the offensive line. Replacing the OC isn't the answer. Geno Smith is the Brad Johnson/Dilfer/Nick Foles of quarterbacks. You need a stellar defense to support him. He's not going to carry a team on his back. I don't know why people, especially on social media defend him to no end.

I haven’t done my scouting reports on college QB talent for this upcoming draft. But, Seattle, cannot ascend these wins/loss ratio if they stick with Geno. Seattle needs a talented rookie QB. People have been talking about Jaxson Dart but I am not yet sold on Dart. I definitely know Seattle is not going to improve by going after free agent QBs and sticking with Geno. I think Darnold had a great year but I would be reluctant to sign Darnold as well. He’s only had one great season and I can’t use this single season to be comfortable with Darnold as my QB.

Seattle has to some how find a talented college QB in this years draft. If it isn’t this year, then, a placeholder QB, okay, then if you ride with Geno, one more year, that’s fine but only one more year. Seattle is not going to reach the NFC Championship with Geno’s talent ceiling. Geno, does not have “it.” We have seen enough from Geno, and Geno is not clutch and cannot transcend Seattle to the next level.

I agree. There isn't anything better and Geno will not lead you to the promised land but he has reached his ceiling. A couple guys I am interested in watching film on is the aforementioned Dart, Will Howard and Kyle McCord at least as potential prospects to groom but none of them are as good as Geno (at least for 2025)

Its too early to tell, if we dump Geno and use all our draft picks (so no improvements to the O-line) to get the next Trey Lance we might be looking at about 6 wins. Get the next Tom Brady in the 6th along with some good picks and trades to improve in the trenches then we could go all the way.

Reality is it will probably be somewhere inbetween, we have an aging QB who is a servicable starter but far from eilite, big problems in the O-line a stella but expensive WR group and a slightly above average defence. We have a number of good young playrers likely to improve next year but our cap space means we will probably have to cut some players we would like to keep.

I voted for 9-10 wins, though that could be enough to make us play-off bound.

49ers will get healthy and bounce back next year. Rams will continue to be a problem. 9-10 wins, possible wildcard.

Playoffs? Playoffs? Absolutely should be the minimum goal next year. We won't be an elite team, however, until we get a good offensive line, a couple more elite players playing elite ball (a good off-season), and a coaching staff that is humming on all cylinders. Geno would then be good enough to get us into the playoffs, but probably not a serious SB contender.
