He had 29 sacks in his last 3 seasons with Detroit before we signed him to a $15 mill. contract.
His numbers at Detroit, and then here, are almost the same. You might argue that they were a little better with Detroit. So if he was a star here ...

I loved Cliff Avril, especially after I spent two months with my son in Haiti in 2017. He was one of my favorites.

Brian Russell was highly touted while he was with Minnesota Vikings prior to joining the Seahawks. Everett was solid with the Rams prior to joining the Seahawks. While neither are HOFs they were well known players before they became Seahawks.

Here are a few more names -

Mike Pritchard
Winston Moss
Ricky Proehl

Man, seeing all these names and knowing how little most did for the Hawks doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in signing Kupp.

The corner who bragged he could run with any receiver. The problem is that he let all of them catch the ball as he was running with them.
Willy Williams.

Russel had one really good year and one good one. The rest were average. He made zero pro bowls.

Everett averaged two catches per game in his time with the Rams. Average at best with them.

I get it they somewhat had a name on their own teams, but not even close to being stars.
