I’m not bought in on MM BUT I’m also not done with him either. I’m giving him 2 seasons provided the trajectory looks correct as the seasons progress. This is game 6. The sample size is too small right now. I’m seeing things that look good and things that look horrendous.

Anyone concerned we never see Macdonald communicate with the players on the sidelines?

Dude looks like he's doing math in his head the whole game with a distant stare.

Maybe I'm still missing Pete and his theatrics.

I’m wondering if he’s in over his head as HC AND DC at the same time. No matter how good your are having to split your time, energy and attention between two different jobs just means you can’t give either 100%.

Everyone in the organization expects a playoff season. The organization stated clearly that last season was a disappointment for the talent on the roster. There is no waiting until MM gets his guys in here. The organization clearly expects this roster to produce better results than last season.
That is the lens they have asked us as fans to judge them by this year. There's still time, but it's trending towards massive disappointment this season. Who knows what future results look like.

I got a ton of crap for saying this same thing in the offseason, but it's 100% true. The organization made this bed. They fired Pete for underperforming last season after winning nine games. They set the expectation that this was a playoff-caliber roster. They also brought in a rookie head coach and inexperienced staff to make that turnaround happen.

Mike deserves the benefit of the doubt this season. However, if this team doesn't see a dramatic turnaround, John Schnieder may not have a job this offseason. He's running out of people to blame for this defense's terrible construction.

His home is made of Rich Mohogany. He has many leather-bound books.
He's so wise, like Baxter. Who, of course, is like a miniature Buddha......covered in hair.
Have you been watching Ricky Bobby, Talledega Nights on loop? You sound like Ricky Bobby in that scene where he's saying grace over the fancy dinner of KFC, Taco Bell, and Dominos, arguing that he prefers infant baby Jesus, with balled up fat little fists.

Im fine with this. The guy is looking at the issues and trying to figure out a way around them or to fix them. I'll take that over a morale booster and cheerleader.

BS. The FO understands there's a talent issue on both lines and that MM is going to need time to study and calculate where the problems are. This is more on JS than MM. If the FO believes that this is a successful post season roster than somebody has been filling them with crap and I believe that somebody was let go last season.

This isn’t a schematic issue it’s a mix of injuries, roster construction that happened before he got here and learning a new complex system.

Gotta give him some time to get his guys and once he does he will be fine. Sherman did an off season film study of Macdonald and came out of it blown away at what Mike puts on tape. He knows what he’s doing and it will get better.

I love John and I love what him and Pete built here but they didn’t do Mike any favors. Our drafting has improved but our FA signings have been terrible. They traded away key draft picks like a second for Miles very first draft thinking they could win it all last year. I’d like to see them figure out a way to get some early draft capital and let Mike get his guys.

MM will need to continue to grow as a HC. A great HC isn't only about Xs and Os, but also about building a culture. It's about fostering the right mentality. Getting the team prepared to play mentally and emotionally.

That zen thing PC did to Geno last year, for example to calm him down. PC was attuned with his players during the game. MM not so much. Geno and DK sulking on the sidelines. Big Cat saying the team underestimated the Giants, etc.

10 day reset. Let's see if the come out flat vs Atlanta or not. They failed the test vs 9ers but will see if they can rebound.

He sure went from Sean McDermott to Brandon Staley or Gus Bradley awfully quick. And the fact that I had to go through basically the entire league in my head before using McDermott as my example shows how few of the best young coaches in recent years are ones with a defensive background.

So, again what is your excuse for Mike in balty having the 30th ranked run defense the whole 2nd half? Was this Petes fault too?

Nah, I've seen that movie once. Anchorman? Probably 100 times :)

Who’s defense was better last year Baltimore or Seattle? And why the snark?

Every defense has a weak point. Macdonald chose to focus on shutting down the passing game and making life on the QB hard which in the modern NFL makes sense right? Pete did the opposite. Which defense had more success?

We get it you think Pete should still be the coach. I don’t and apparently the league agrees.

What is your argument? Because Baltimore was 30th against the run last year he’s a bad coach?

And you realize Seattle had a worse run defense last year right?

No snark. It was sarcasm meant to be a joke.

No, i think Pete got a raw deal from fans and JS who thought he was too old and this team would be better without him. Now, the new coach is 3-3 and now its the roster's fault and such.

Who said Mike is a bad coach? I think he is young and should get the chance to learn. Im just not extreme on things. I dont think Mike should have been crowned the messiah so soon just like i dont want hkm fired like some.

And again you are excuse making for teams figuring out his run defense. No, i dont want PC or Mike or any HC being 30th best at something.

And if we are comparing coaches, one has won a chip.

Different talent on that Ravens roster and MM was their DC for two years and had time to shape it. Not to mention an offense lead by Lamar Jackson that can bury opponents in points.

He does need to do better no doubt, but people who psychoanalysis him or write off his up and coming HC career after six games assumed he was going to gallop in like King Arthur and bestow Seattle with the Holy Grail.
