TJ Watt for sure. We could’ve drafted him but traded down to get McDowell. The 2017 draft had a lot of talent that we passed up, including all-pro talent.

Buddah Baker is another one we passed up that was also a need.

Tre’Davious White, yet another all pro went a pick after our original pick.

Ryan Ramczyk went around our pick as well, yet an other all pro.

Humphrey, Watt, and Madubuike are the obvious missed opportunities.

The controversial opinion would be Jalen Carter. I love Witherspoon, but drafting a nickel corner 5th overall still feels high to me. And Carter is arguably the most complete young DT in the league.

I was hoping we would grab Jaden Hicks last draft. Doing great for KC, would have filled a big need and was a late 4th rounder.

Who is one guy, that we had a shot at that, you wish we would’ve grabbed? It doesn’t have to be a ‘need’.

Not talking draft picks…that’s too easy.

I’d take Baker Mayfield. I’m not saying he would do better or worse than Geno. I’m not saying we don’t need O-line help. I’m not saying he would be our savior. I’m not even saying it was a position of need at the time.

I just like the way dude plays.
+1, love watching Baker play. He's tough as nails and a hell of a competitor.

Anyone know if that center from Oregon everyone wanted this past draft has been any good? I didn't have any strong feelings on him.

This draft imo was when things really started to nose dive.

He hasn't played much, a lot of small injury stuff. Raiders started him at guard and he was fine. Just moved him to center and he had a REALLY good first game.

So very very limited playtime so far, but very promising.

Also of note: Rookie Delmar "DJ" Glaze has also been playing nearly-elite ball as of late for them. Drives me back to thinking that solid coaching on that line is leading to great development of their young guys.

Hard to feel like either of those guys would be doing as well here.

For additional context, the OL coach in LV was just fired recently. Joe Philbin, noted elite OL coach, has been working with them and was named the interim.

Makes it seem like Philbin was guiding these guys all along and just got Cregg out of his way so he could coach them full time.

I was thinking something similar when I saw this tweet yesterday: https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1855688518711800190?s=46&t=J0p2oFk2S-oTfiSeDu017g

Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye

Btw, shout out to #Panthers (third-string) C Cade Mays, what a freaking game against Dexter Lawrence. He was fantastic, as was the rest of the OL.Young was sacked just once and Hubbard ran for a career high all in the same night. Mays was on the Giants' p-squad like a month ago

How come these stories never happen here?

I would've liked the Eagle deal to go through for Wikson (but Wilson nixed it).

We would have probably received Hurts, Goedert, and a couple first rounders (if not more). Who knows how Wilson would have done but based off his Denver performance, it would have been early picks as well.
