No longer can you work minimum wage and pay for college and buy a home all on that income.
Hahaha! Who told you that was *ever* possible?!? No houses were bought, and no colleges were attended, using minimum wage. At $2.25/hr I could barely afford a beat-up old POS car that I kept running via parts from the junkyard that were hardly better than what I replaced. Sorry son, $12 or so per day after taxes wasn't buying anything like that. Or even renting a place, no matter how small and shitty, without at least one or two roommates.

<edit to add:> This was why I joined the Navy in 1977 when I was still 17 years old. I knew I wasn't going anywhere in life with a minimum wage job and no real skills past graduating from high school and washing dishes. Minimum wage jobs were *never* about living well, they were about feeding yourself until you could get a real job.

Ok maybe you couldn’t buy a house in Bellevue back then on minimum wage. But people were buying houses in Ballard for $50k while on a single teacher’s salary. Try doing that today. Houses along lake Washington were $200k in the late 80s. What are they up to now? Care to guess? We have it so easy now right?

That's a bit over the top, don't cha think?

Being 75 y/o, I find that remark offensive and unnecessary.
Seems like lead poisoning got you in your feelings and unable handle the facts of the matter. Your generation has absolutely trashed the natural world and have left nothing but scraps for my generation and the ones after me.

Zero apologies.

🙄 what does that have to do with being a knowledgeable football fan?
Been a hawks fan since inception. Prior season ticket holder. Attended beastquake on my birthday. RW first preseason game. Both NFCCG. But yeah I know nothing about football or this team you’ve got me dead to rights lmfao!

Yep…and one of those millennials just happens to have quit on his own team last night. Not a good look at all. Literally quit on his own team, pathetic…I’m sure Niner fans aren’t happy. Could you imagine doing that? Refusing to go into the game because your feelings are hurt. Sound familiar?
Knowingly screwing over younger generations, only to later call them “soft” because they can’t afford to buy a house while making 6 figures. You guys are the biggest clowns

Also bringing up a forty WHINER being a typical WHINER has nothing to do with millenials. That whole team is soft. Have you seen what Deebo wears to games?

Just a heads up...if it wasn't for a couple of BOOMERS...you wouldn't be here.
Yeah but they weren’t brain dead at the time and didn’t vote for Regan like most of you idiots did. Worked out great huh, wealth totally trickled down. Thats why there’s more concentrated wealth at the top in this country than ever before. You’re gen is delusional and your opinions should all be taken with a grain of salt after all the lead you’ve been exposed to lol

A few things the Millenials and Gen X are our fault as in Boomers, we made them, we told everyone they were special and gave participation trophies out like Halloween candy, spared the rod and spoiled the child. They never learned a work ethic since told them they are better than that doing entry level jobs to start out, paid for their cars and insurance and Phones.

So companies imported cheap immigration labor for service jobs that Boomers did to put themselves thru school, or took labor jobs to learn and get apprenticeships. Plumbers, Electricians, Construction workers etc, again your better than that, so we hired immigration people that worked cheaper and learned those trades.

Now that time has passed, wage gaps, costs of things have gone thru the roof and separation of economic classes has widened. Had those young kids took those jobs they would be at a higher payscale that may have kept up with cost of living, we would not be screaming for labor in this country and there may be more housing available to purchase as inventory would not be so thin since we would not have used immigration on the level we have.

I understand the frustration, we were fortunate enough to find a way to have a stay at home parent, instill work ethic since we moved to the rural areas where they could be kids and have responsibilities other then just play Game Boy, Playstation. They had chores, yard work etc. 4 out of 4 kids all had or have decent jobs now, two have bought a home a third getting close, the other will have ours someday, he stood by me taking care of his sick mother for 20 years and earned it and had a full time job. All were working out of High School in some fashion. Not making 100,000 a year or as Millenials say needing 500,000 a year to "Get By" but minimum wage or bottom of the scale to start out.

People used to say I was an Asshole for making them have to work rather then just give them what they needed. Most of them still have their kids living with them or are supporting them in some fashion still.

Much like millennials who've been so coddled and sheltered from any kind of adversity that the simple realities of day to day life feel like crimes against humanity. Broccoli-Top here is bitching about what every team in the League gets dealt season to season because he's used to being the Teacher's Pet and getting handed the easier path thanks to King Goodell. Shut the F up and be a man for F's sake, and go get a man's haircut while you're at it.

Seems a bit much. Mahomes didn't bring it up. He was asked a question and he responded with (paraphrasing here, but basically) it sucks but we just gotta deal with it. I'm sure most players feel similarly. Not really seeing any bitching or whining here. 🤷‍♂️

I know plenty of millennials making upwards of 300k living in Seattle who are still barely scraping by and can’t afford a house. You can’t live very far away from your high paying job in the city, especially now Covid subsided and employers are forcing people back into offices. Then if you do live outside the city, you’re stuck in hours of traffic on both ends of the commute. Shitty deal

It's pretty funny. Maybe even a little ironic how older generations just love to bitch about millennials and how soft, sensitive, coddled, entitled, etc. they are, but yeah. Who was it that raised that generation? It was those very same people bitching about how they turned out. Maybe y'all didn't do a very good job raising your kids if your so disappointed with how they (or their kids) turned out? Just a thought.

Blame is much easier to hand off than to own. Their entitlement speaks for itself.

Maybe we should be thankful for the good things our generations have to offer instead of dwelling on the negatives. Boomers had an easier time affording real estate, but there are hundreds of things that millennials and Gen Z get to enjoy today that boomers didn't when they were younger.

People just focus on the negative too much. It's a problem with our culture.
