16 years since I last watched or cared about the NBA thanks for allowing the Sonics to move.

Now we have a state-of-the-art arena and they are still pussy-footing around? Give me a break.

Not surprising, they flat out wear the black eye they caused with pride. They’ll never change either. And thankfully to this day I don’t watch and won’t watch until or IF the Sonics return

Well then, that does it for me. I've been pretending to watch with interest for the last few years now. I enjoy the Celtics and I can watch the Bucks and Sixers...sometimes. But no more. Not until the Sonics are back and playing ball in Seattle will I watch another NBA game. And that includes the championships. Silver is the same sniveling little bitch that Sterm was. I'm out.

If the Celtics are for sale, maybe somebody can buy them and move them to Seattle and change the franchise back to the Supersonics. Boston is a dying city, and it's over in the scummy area of the country. Nobody will miss them.

I keep coming back to the idea that maybe it's because Portland has a team. They don't want the PNW to have 2 teams. They want everyone in Washington to become Trailblazer fans, though will never happen.

Move the Blazers to Seattle instead. Problem solved.

No Blazers !!! If we can't have the SuperSonics don't give us our Rivals as a consolation prize.

If the league does the leverage game again like with Sacramento and the Bucks I am done with them period.

As a former Sonics die hard season ticket holder who now watches maybe a few playoff games a year if that. If they screw us again they'll be more dead to me than Starbucks.

You want an expansion team to call them the "Sonics", what's the difference?
Either way they are not the Sonics that Stern and company stole away, broke
many fans' hearts.
I won't be back for one, the NBA can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

I don't care if the Sonics return either.

I believe the league is punishing the community because they voted against financing the renovation of Key Arena.

Also, the game has changed so much I cannot watch it.

I grew up watching the Sonics and (vaguely) remember the 1979 championship victory.

Then, followed in the 80s and up to the late 90s.

I have good memories of the Detroit Pistons and the physical style of play back then. Other teams' players also. And of course, the Sonics.

There was a saying among players back then: "How many times am I gonna hit the floor tonight?"

Physical.

Bashing one's way up to the post.

Now, it's 3-pointer land.

Not sure the group who plunked down more than a few dollars for the rights to a new NHL team and renovated Key Arena specifically for NHL and NBA will be OK with the notion of being passed over come NBA expansion.

I haven't watched an NBA game from buzzer to buzzer since Michael Jordan and the Bulls faced off against John Stockton and the Jazz in the finals. I'd like to see Seattle get a team as it means a lot to some of the die hard Sonics fans, but it's not at the top of my wish list.

I'm wondering if the real reason the league is dragging its feet on expansion is that they want to go international, like adding a franchise in Mexico City.

I don't want a Rival and screw them, especially when they are 2 hrs away or so, I don't want Seattle with Portland's team History. The fans never sold out on the Sonics, Greg Nichols did and Schultz. Yes the game isn't as interesting to watch anymore. I have not watched it since the move. But for those that still do getting our Sonics and History back would be like getting a Stolen Art piece back taken in a War.

Move the Blazers to Seattle. Change the name to the Supersonics. Obtain rights to the Supersonics history. Erase all of the Blazers history from the records.

Problem solved.

The NBA said if Seattle gets a team, they can use the Sonic name and get their history
back..So if they got the Blazers they can change them to the Sonics.
It doesn't matter how they get a team.

To me it does, winning isn't everything, how you get it matters, shooting the whole other team and getting a win by default isn't winning to me.

I was at the very last home game against the Mavericks. We actually won to by Nick Collison hitting a clutch free throw. Crowd was nuts chantting Save our Sonics. The Glove was there too. Never thought we would lose them a couple months later.

I haven't watched a full NBA game since. NBA has been dead to me. Starbucks is also banned.

Throughout the years I get my hopes up when there are talks of a return, only to be disappointed. Looks like it's going to happen again.

I find it very odd that so many people from Seattle won't watch the NBA because of what happened to the Sonics, but will continue to watch the Mariners. I understand not supporting the NBA because you perceive them as a bad business that did us dirty. Yet there are plenty of people who watch the Mariners, who are as bad as the NBA if not worst. Since the Sonics have left the Mariners have had one playoff appearance, in which they did not score a single run at home in their playoff game.
