It would be interesting to see an honest poll on who thought they were gonna' lose early to mid-4th quarter.
Me yesterday "We won, Honey"
Yes, I heard
Sometimes, she smartly goes in the other room to watch. I supposedly get a little bit "loud"
Lies!
Mrs. Lagartixa is learning intermediate English invective by observing me when I'm watching football or playing video games.
The interesting thing is that during the fourth quarter, I thought the Seahawks might lose, but I didn't get frustrated or turn off the TV or even do much to teach my wife, much less our neighbors, naughty expressions in English. I think I only mustered a gentle "oh, for f**k's f**king sake!" for Fant's big coulda-been-an-easier-win drop.
We had plans to go to a show by my favorite samba artist (who has also become our friend) at her bar, and we had to leave right around 5PM, which is about the time the game would be expected to end, because it started around 2PM local time. I took my shower at halftime. Did I miss anything important on the halftime show? Just kidding, of course.
When the Seahawks were on the drive late in the fourth, I actually felt pretty good about their chances of winning. When they instead tied the game, that was just about perfect timing for me to turn off the TV and for us to go to what was unsurprisingly a pretty nice evening of samba, followed by hanging around at the bar with the owners, some of the musicians, and some people who were there because they're in a theater piece about
Martinho da Vila with our friend who's my favorite samba artist. What's interesting to me is how relaxed I felt when turning off the TV with the game tied and a little less than a minute left on the game clock.
I can access NFL Game Pass on my phone, so I was aware the Seahawks had won right when it happened, which was before we got to the bar.
