I totally forgot this dude was a Seahawk (for a day or however long it was). His complaints sound similar to other players released by the organization. Of course, getting suspended for substance abuse did him no favors. Still, kind of brow raising to hear.

It's a funny interview, but Lindell still doesn't get it.

With Pete you gotta either buy in 100% and do what he tells you to do in order to get better and compete? Or you gotta have insane talent like Marshawn, Russ, Sherm, etc where AFTER you prove it to him, he'll give you some leeway.

Lindell thought since he and Pete went way back he didn't need to come into Seattle and bust his ass and buy in, and that's the way he's talking here. Too bad, cause White was a helluva college player, he could have had a much more productive pro career.

LenDale was never one of Pete’s guys the way Reggie was because he didn’t have the same work ethic. He loves USC though.

He pretty much admitted he didn't buy in and fully dedicate himself. The way he described his attitude towards rookie coaches says it all

Sounds like Taylor Mays syndrome.

Pete loves his guys, will support them. But if they don't pull their part, he has no issue calln it like it is. No hometown discount. Good for him.

And it's not being false. The standard is the standard. Point blank. Friends or not friends. History, or no history.

It's why he's been successful. And when he hasn't adhered to that mantra, why he's failed.

It became apparent at this time that LenDale was not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
I don't think there's any mystery here either. LenDale was busting out of the league with substance abuse issues and Pete gave him another chance as a reclamation project. Then lo and behold White got busted for substance abuse yet again and that ended his opportunity.

I don't think we can compare White to other players. His career ended when he was 25. Whether Pete should have called him is debatable, but they didn't treat him poorly.

Lendale and Bobby, both learned about their release by Hawks on TV?

Pete is a businessman, and this proves it that if you are cut, you are cut like a normal player would be. He won't change for anyone, and he knew White's parents, his grandmother and everyone in his family.

Bobby has since recanted much of that story. Seahawks front office repeatedly tried to get ahold of him but he purposefully didn't answer the phone because "he knew what they were going to say".
thanks, I didn't read that. So it was on Bobby in this case.
