If you boo Russ, are you going to boo Wagner?

Im seeing it on twitter about booing Russ and some saying they will not boo Bobby.

Why? I understand Russ wanted out and Bobby did not. However, Bobby picked a rival instead of the Ravens.

No. Bobby wanted to stay and was a cap casualty whereas Russ burned his bridges and took a big diarrhea dump on Pete’s desk and forced his way out after poor play. Wilson turned out to be a bit of a butthole in the end.

Nobody is gonna' boo Bobby.

As for Mr. Unlimited? I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough to boo and shed tears of joy at the same time. In exchange for the 75th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, we've received 2 1sts, 2 2nds and 2 starters?

I've never loved that man as much as I love him today.

Bobby went back “home” to his family after he was cut. He’s from Ontario near LA.

Russ forced his way off the team the past two years. A subtle “bird” to the team. So yeah, I’ll boo Russ and cheer Bobby.

This sounds a little like Sherm and Earl, right?

BWags didn’t force his way out. Dumb comparison.

I wouldn't boo Wagner, ever. I hate facing him twice a year though. That Ram D is gonna rock.
Wilson, I'd have trouble booing him but I've never gotten over my hatred for the Broncos. I'd boo anyone in a Bronco uni so he would be subject.

Everyone taking a dump on Russ just remember John was exploring trades with the Browns with Russ well before the last 2 years. I completely understand Russ' frustration with the front office and the state of our O-line. We have had years of extremely poor trades, Graham, Harvin, Sheldon Richardson, etc. and an all time franchise worst for malcontent Jamal Adams ( a trade that had the rest of the NFL laughing). We threw around first and second round picks like they were one cent candy.
We had incredibly fruitless free agent acquisitions. Continually giving players no one wanted millions to come here and show why no one wanted to sign them. Our free agent signings 3 years ago in particular were horrific.

Pete and John built a winner but they were horrible at sustaining it. Handing out massive contracts at safety and linebacker is a terrible way to spend money while never ever going out and paying for the good O lineman that were available.
In short Russ was not the only reason this fell apart. In fact when you have a hall of fame QB on your roster the F.O. needs to figure out how to make it work out. The Seahawks are the only franchise I can think of that traded a QB of his caliber in their prime and that isn't because Russ is some sort of trouble maker unlike Tom, Rodgers, etc.
Its because they failed to put together a competent team around Russ for many years. Russ carried this team for a long time and it was only getting worse.

Pete's reset did not work out and it was obvious for everyone to see. Many here in the same position would get frustrated with how things were being done as well. He has a finite amount of time to play and he wanted to compete for championships and he had lost his confidence in Pete and John to make that happen.
I can understand why. Now maybe they can turn it around again but seeing them double down on Adams with his huge contract shakes my confidence. It seems like they have a large helping of hubris in that F.O. at least as much as Russ has.

Do you not understand the difference between a player wanting to stay and a player who forced his way out?

I always say similar about Rick Mirer. People always say how bad that pick was. He had a decent rookie year (shared offensive rookie of the year with Bettis) and then the trade to Chicago resulted in taking Shawn Springs at #3, and probably more importantly the extra high pick in the 1st got us Walter Jones. And during the time he was here, this team was way more than a good QB away from being competitive.

I do see that both sides are partially responsible, but I feel as though we will learn a lot about Russ this year. Behind the scenes stuff. He was the NFL darling when he entered the league, and he earned it, but things have been different for a handful of years. And I believe John saw it and tried to get out in front of it. The team relied and shaped to fit Russ, but Russ is not the same player he was 7-10 years ago.

I'll never spend another cent of my hard earned money on anything NFL related, especially attending a game, but if I were to go to the season opener this year I wouldn't give that translucent flake the satisfaction of booing. It's over, he's gone and the team will be better off for it. No longer being held hostage by that guy is a godsend to this team and, believe it or not, this fanbase as well. Hell, we should thank him.

I have no ill will towards Russ. He's arguably the greatest Hawk of all time, and helped us win a SB. He also for over a decade was a great ambassador for our team, city and did a lot of great things in the community.

How can you be mad about that?

But until he retires I will root against him. His ambitions every since he married Ciara changed from team oriented to Russell Wilson oriented. Which is fine, a LOT of players are like that, hyper focused on their bank account, brand, exposure and marketing opportunities.

Doesn't mean I'm going to be giving him some lame standing ovation when he walks out in a disgusting Broncos uniform. That makes it worse, the team I hated the most growing up.

So when he raises the 12th Man flag in 10 years and we put him into the Ring of Honor? Hell yeah, 30 minute standing ovation. But now? F that, boo his ass and hope he throws six picks a game.
