His strength is supposedly defense, but he isn't even as good as the crappy DCs we had under Carroll.

Weirdly, his strength looks to be offense - but there are some nagging indicators that seem to point to MM being over his head.
Not sure MM is going to be much here, but I'd love to be proven wrong. He reminds me of some of the crappy Husky and Seahawk coaches we have over the years before Carroll.
But it's early, maybe he will prove us wrong.

Bad sign he somehow can't get as much from a better defensive roster than the one Carroll had. And somehow the players we had that WERE good under Carroll seem worse under MM.

Even a guru needs to have decent players to make it work. Our Dline is garbage, and our LBers are garbage. You expecting some miracle worker. 90% of this team still has the stink of Carroll on it. Pgive the man a chance sheesh. Even carroll took a year to turn it around.

Fans are just impatient. Either wanting instant gratification or still suffering from having a longer term HC that they were familiar with created a sort of fan symbiotic relationship with.

That’s fair but no one including Pete could make this unit elite with this personnel so for people killing Macdonald for it seems odd. I actually came out of this game feeling better about this team

I think MM defensIve calls sucked. Our Lb’s were backing up 15
yards on pass plays and they would throw it underneath. Charbana
looked a lot better than K9. Geno had to many mistakes and penalties
killed us again.
