With the Niners beating the Bucs and the Cardinals obliterating the Jets, we're a Rams win tomorrow night against the 2-6 Dolphins from falling a game back to the entire division this week. BTW, the Cards look damn good.

Also, a 2-8 team we lost to at home lost to the Panthers. That team would hold the #1 pick in the draft if it were held today.

Geno hasn't been benched.

Only positive I can think to pull from today's results is the recently-imploding Bears getting demolished by the Patriots could be useful for the wild card chase. Bucs losing helps that too, but that came at the expense of the Niners winning.

Right. The only + from today is that we didn't add another one to our loss column. Not feeling a lot of confidence Dolphins can pull it out tomorrow night.
Yeah, but it was effectively a half game loss in the standings. :(

But hey, no offensive line injuries nor Geno turnovers this week.

We're a week too early for pessimism. A win next week puts us a game back of the division lead, heading into a first place game against the Cardinals.

Are you seriously expecting anything more than a last place finish this season? Not trying to be a smartass, but IMO the ship has SAILED on 2024, we're so far from being competitive it's tragic.

We can't beat anyone in our division, lol. I don't think Geno is the worst QB in the division, but we are clearly the worst team in the division. We suck and there is no hope this season. Sorry to break it to you, but that's reality...

He probably is. Purdy has been better since the day he stepped onto the field for the first time, and Murray is playing MUCH better. Maybe you could argue Stafford because he's basically being held together by duct tape at this point, but health aside, Stafford is the one I'm trusting more to make the big throws and avoid the bad decisions when the game is on the line.

Show me where I said anything like that.
Your entire post was the tracking of teams in competition to the Seahawks as it pertains to division ranking and the wildcard playoff race.

Again, I'm not trying to be critical, I just find it to be a waste of time to even analyze playoff rankings and the Seahawks.

The pessimism isn't necessarily unwarranted and I've been worried about the Cards for a while now. That was a desperate Jets team with their season on the line and the Cards throttled them. Our playoff odds are looking slim.

What I don't agree with is the fatalism. Keeping expectations low is reasonable but there is still plenty to play for. We can't do anything about the roster now so figuratively throwing in the towel isn't rational. We do still have meaningful games, and the next month should be looked at as a positive opportunity to gauge the progress of the team.

Your avatar is too cool for me to get too annoyed, but while I'm not expecting a playoff run, until we're out of it, I find it interesting to follow the race. I wouldn't mind being wrong.
