They’re either looking to extend Mafe or find a suitable trade partner for DK.

Restructuring Metcalf's contract to free $9M of cap space this season will almost certainly make it more painful (in cap terms) to trade him, not less.

His body language last game was concerning. I’m not saying he’s satan or anything, just saying it’s worth keeping an eye on

This is just a parody of talking-head mediots making up stupid narratives because they don't really understand the details of the strategies, tactics, and individual performance that actually affect on-the-field results, right? Brilliant! Do "chip on his shoulder" next! That's my favorite.

Surtain might be the best corner in the AFC. If he gets taken to school by whoever the hell the Pats are playing at corner these days, maybe I'll start having some concerns, but for now, DK is still our best offensive player.

No idea what the re-structure would be for. Desperately need the OL help, but I have no clue if there are any difference makers even remotely available. Do the Giants have anyone who isnt terrible? Despite getting thrashed last week, I doubt the Browns would be willing to move Joel Bitonio or Wyatt Teller. I like Taylor Moton a lot in Carolina.

Geno needs time to get the ball to him, he is a deep threat not an outlet guy or a guy that catch's the ball 5 yards off the Line of scrimmage. We know how things went the first half, second half was a run dominated half. Next week if we get the blocking and spacing fixed I think we see more of DK.

No. He was shut down . It's ok. You can still love him deeply.

I kind of hope they did push money around to explore trading him . He's seems inconsistent at times , has way too many penalties , and misses way too many catchable balls to be paid like a "#1 WR" .

Seattle could get a freaking haul for him. I hope they don't extend him for 25-30MM per.
Not consistent enough.
He wasn't shut down. But that's cool. I've said several times that Sertain is legit. Getting a few catches off of him is pretty common. He's among the best in the league. I'm sorry he hurts your feels by being a player that cares. It's ok, You can still obsess on him deeply.

The DK Surtain battle was pretty epic, with neither player coming away with a clean win. Each of them got theirs.

Seemingly under appreciated here is that Surtain stayed with DK throughout the game, which freed up Lockett to have a big game.

Yep, it was fun to watch. Great match ups against two guys who play hard and have a mutual respect for each other.
It's ok to tip the cap to an opponent. Sertain is damn good, like really really good.

It was mostly a joke. I told my guys down at the shop what I said on here and they all agreed that I was wrong, so I’ll take the L on this bad take.

I’m learning everyone. My apologies

Nah. I'm a DK fan, but of course he drives me crazy from time to time. But these so called "outbursts" are less and less as time goes on. And I suspect coach Mike won't allow it. Pete was WAY too lenient with the players, imo. His teammates clearly love the guy, and he's a total team player. Everyone has their opinion, I just don't think he's the team cancer that many seem to still want to make him out to be. I'll say it, yet again, the LOB was praised for their passion. Fact

Overblown argument....

No one here hates DK. No one even dislikes him.

Similarly, no one here professes he's infallible. He makes mistakes sometimes.

There's a small difference of opinion on how much his value is decreased in certain circumstances where he loses focus. That's it. There's a 90% agreement on how good he is.

If a move is made that improves the team overall, it's a good thing. That's true whether it leaves DK, or any other player, on the inside or outside. Furthermore, we know basically 1% of relevant information. DK could be asking for something or JS/MMac could be too. All we know absolutely is that JS moved up to get DK and he's produced on the field while in Seattle and both sides agreed to a big contract. I think it's also pretty safe to say that any decision that has been made didn't happen because of a game with 3 receptions and 30 yds. ...it's been in the works, whatever it is, if anything at all.

Frankly, I think the restructure is a nothing-burger. JS has been on his game all off-season. Having some petty cash to spend if the opportunity arises is how he landed our starting OC. I think he's been out fishing constantly and just wanted to have some extra bait in case he stumbles on a marlin.

Wrong. Plenty of people dislike him, and some hate him. And that fine, part of being an NFL player who plays with passion.

Well Lynch was buddying up to MacDonald..perhaps he made enough of an impression that MacDonald needed the money to bring Lynch out of retirement
I don't care how old Lynch is. I'd be down for that anytime. 😁

Usually when this kind of move is made, doesn't it normally mean the player is in the long term plan vs trying to do something to be able to get rid of the player quicker?

Lol Soulfish, my feels aren't hurt . I do like that he cares . Last season he cared so much he got flagged for multiple personal fouls. I hope he can channel his passion for the good of the team . I'm optimistic about this but starting a rumble in TC didn't help me believe.

He caught 3 passes for 29 yards Sunday and it appears that's ok because Surtain is a great CB. Am I understanding you correctly? I certainly don't want to assume.

Sometimes fans have a different view of a player. I respect you , you're a big part of .NET

I'm just bustin your chops, that's all. DK drives me nuts too at times. I just think he's a hell of a lot more of a team guy than others do.
I find it funny how people obsess on the guy and make him out to be this huge problem to the team. Which he isn't at all.
I've said it 754 thousand times, and I stick to it, the LOB was worshiped for their passion. People made excuses for them all the time, even when they were being jack wagons. Intense football players are gonna' get stupid penalties sometimes. That's part of it.
I probably just like pulling for guys that a bunch of other people don't like :ROFLMAO:
Just observations, that make me laugh a little. I'm proud he's on this team, I think he's a beast. Other people don't, and that's fine.
And I can be an a** at times too. Sorry if I came off as one.

Great post.

This sums up exactly where I'm coming from . I actually like him but he's kind of a different type of player. I think for what he is physically, he should be more clutch ,
especially if he's asking for top WR money. And he will be.

Randy Moss had issues but was dominant. Teams knew what was coming and couldn't stop it. That's what I wish for in DK and still think he could be.

200

Is this constructive conflict? Did I enter the wrong room by mistake?

j/k...all good points. Everyone wants the team to succeed and nobody has identical perspectives.

Totally . I like Soulfish . Of course not every 12 will agree 100% on every aspect of the team , players etc..

Being able to separate this and be civil and respectful is what separates this board from other teams fans.

Most of the time haha
