According to NFL sources. Were just getting a piece of the Grubb Sorcery. Rad. Impressed with Ryan not trying to heap too much on Geno's plate at once. Things are only going to get better.

"The 'Hawks aren't even running Ryan Grubb's complete offense yet, at least not the prolific version he used in Washington over the past few years. I consider it a good sign that Grubb and Mike Macdonald do not appear to be forcing an identity on this team; better to let it develop and grow at the proper pace. Right now, the Seahawks are chipping away at opponents and working with what they have. Next, Seattle catches the Dolphins at an opportune time in Week 3. The Macdonald era is off to a nice start."

I think full implementation is completely dependent on the health of our OL. I suspect we won’t see even close to 100% of the package until if and when the state of the line improves exponentially.

Trust me on this, I watched UW religiously, they haven't even scratched the surface of his creativity. A little TOO aggressive at times with a lead, but hopefully coach Mike nips that in the bud. Good points on the O Like. UW had the #1 ranked O Line in the entire country. And Penix is a beast. So there is that.

That's the case both on offense and defense, but yes a O line that can block would be essential, timing and ability to get a RB to run so you can use Play Action.

I figured the 8 week mark to get to where we start hitting our stride and then maybe see some of the more creative stuff. Also about the time the schedule starts getting a lot more of a Gauntlet look.

If this line gets better, Walker comes back healthy, and Geno keeps up the pinpoint throws, the creativity opens up tremendously. Because football is entertainment, I'm very open to being entertained by Grubb's contributions. Bring it on!

P.S. Tons of extra credit for using Rad!

Gotta walk before we can run, or fly. Frankly, I don't expect to see all of the playbook this season, even.

With the limited practices in the off season and the pre-season, you have to do it in the regular season, with all the pitfalls of developing new plays and concepts while the games count. We're 2-0, with a little serendipity working for us, but I certainly don't expect 17-0. We're a work in process right now, and I'm good with that.

Precisely this…

Like @SoulfishHawk mentioned, the sky is limit with Grubb’s creativity.

We have the Delorean that can pretty much do anything, we just need the 1.21 gigawatts of power to realize its potential. The O line is the bell tower.

I saw that movie, we need a crap load of banana peels, tin cans and other garbage to generate that kind of power 🤪

I would hope he was crafting a new offense based on the challenges he will be facing in NFL and not just running out the same thing that worked in college. I am very pleased that adjustments were made in the first game that allowed for success on the ground. I am also happy that when the Pats shut the run down they went ahead and threw a bunch. Under Carroll we would have still been trying to establish the run all game with Charbonet although he was going NO... WHERE...

Not to discredit Grubb's influence at UW, but the precipitous drop-off is clearly intimidation from joining Ohio State's conference. It's like when Shooter McGavin complained "How am I supposed to PUTT with that going on?" It's difficult to focus surrounded by the products of overwhelming success and popularity you aren't accustomed to.

Until they have even an average O Line, hard to think he's gonna' be able to truly call all that he can. Why would you behind a turnstile?

Would like to see the run game be more creative/dynamic like it was at UW. Last week was Charbonnet running into walls, mainly Tomlinsons butt. Hopefully that happens eventually

I don't know about that, honestly.

I like what Grubb is cooking up so far, but we tried almost as hard to establish the run in this game as we did in the famous Wild Card loss to the Cowboys.

Carson rushed 13 for 20, Charbonnet rushed 14 for 27. Mike Davis went 4 for 10 in the Wild Card loss. Penny averaged almost 8 per carry because he sprung a big one, but he only had 4 carries too.

I think the verbiage "establish the run" is an imperfect summation of what most coaches actually mean. Establishing the run is really more about not giving up on the run so that your offense remains multi-faceted.

You always hear defensive coordinators talk about getting opponents down to a one-dimensional offensive attack. A team that gives up on establishing the run willingly goes down to one dimension.

The phrase "establish the run" sounds like a stubborn insistence upon moving the offense in a particular fashion come hell or high water, but I think it's really about making sure you're keeping the defense honest.

This is what I have been saying for years. My biggest problem with Pete (among the many) over the last almost decade was I really didn't feel entertained very often.
