Not that they're the first to dive into this, but I'm enjoying the staff's exploration of ideas and their good usage of personnel. Also really enjoyable to see how DK's excellence frees them up to do this.

I guess we better enjoy this for now because Grubb is gone after this year.

No I have it on good authority that Grubb is the worst. The moment we rid ourselves from him Geno becomes top 5 QB in NFL.

Grubb self admittedly had a 'growth moment' a few weeks ago where he admitted to basically surrendering trying to force a square peg into a round hole and that he was just now learning how to call a pro game. He said that prior to the bye he was forcing concepts on the o line he shouldnt have, given the personnel and that he realized he couldnt just call splash plays every down and act as though he would have the same number of possessions in the pros that he had in college. He learned to call a mote methodical, possession based, comolimentary game.

Good on him for admitting the error.

Those 2 issues - calling an uncomplimentary offense that just ran plays (and mostly pass plays) like he had an infinite number to run and getting too funny with blocking schemes and o line calls are a huge part of why the offense struggled the way it did. Its a completely different beast since he 'wised up'. Good for him and better for us.

If he hadnt figured out what he had... yeah. The entire offense woukd be better off with someone better. Hopefull he continues to grow and evolve.

It’s great to see we have competent folks on the staff that aren’t too proud to admit mistakes and learn from them and adjust. That’s the name of the game of life in general but sometimes these football people are too stubborn to budge from their status quo. Grubb and the team made huge strides in the running game recently and I’m looking forward to seeing more.

Yeah Grubb was never the problem. He was trying to navigate a bad line and some other stuff that I won’t mention. I love what he’s doing right now and the line is starting to play better which gives him more options in his playbook

He's adjusting. Coach Mike is adjusting. This is really fun to watch. Playoffs or not, this season has been pretty fun. I think we make playoffs, division or wild card, but that's just me.
I had fun Pete's first few years just watching the growth, this feels similar but Mike has a better foundation to work with

Grubb is good. He’ll make a great OC over time. He definitely got some rookie lumps this season though. 🤕

That's awesome

I was unhappy because... basically the offense didn't look any different then what we have all been complaining about for over a decade. Too many long developing routes and runs up the gut with a bad offensive line. I am glad it only took 3/4 of a season for Grubb to figure it out.

He was part of the problem, now he's part of the solution
I disagree. I think the terrible line play forced us into a lot of shotgun type stuff. Grubb was doing everything he could to work around that massive problem. Like starts playing better and we see less shotgun stuff. Others see it differently but that’s how I see it. Not saying he is or was perfect but most of the stuff he was being blamed for I don’t think was necessarily his fault. I said a couple weeks ago I think he’s going to be one of the best OC’s in the league and I still feel that way.
