Good pointAt least under Carrol's tenure. We never saw what he could do under Macdonald or this particular staff.

JS brought in Connor Williams , who most thought was a genius move , a pretty good left tackle and a right tackle who was supposed to be the guy for the next 10 years . Not his fault Lucas has been hurt .
Yes he has to better with the guard positions but many experts on here were giddy with Olu and the other guy they drafted this last draft.
Has anyone considered that maybe the coaching/ development is lacking ? I've wondered about that and haven't seen anyone mention this. I'm not saying it hasn't been brought up .
Regarding Lewis . Doesn't that say something about the coaching and or scheme?
He goes across country and gets after it after being at least serviceable in Seattle ?
Just for discussion
Wasn't Haynes regarding as one of the better Guards coming into this draft? Jeez. Luckily it's not as big a hit as Brooks stock was. What the coaches are saying about Haynes isn't good. Seems like another poor draft pick / scouting issue. He can't even beat Bradford, who is among the worse in the league for sacks given up.
It's become very clear to me where the roster issues are coming from. At least IMHO.The issue up front is clearly John's philosophy. He's not willing to pay market prices for starting linemen. He's always looking for that marginal value in free agency and the draft: the guy coming off an injury, the aging veteran on the decline, the mid-round pick, etc.
Until Leonard Williams and Dre'mont Jones, it was the same with interior defensive linemen. It seemed John would rather take a step back on the line than pay for average starters.
Meanwhile, the good teams in the league are/were doing the opposite.
That is the word. But when the coaches are saying his technique is not good, and he is getting overpowered, that's not a good sign. Will see if he will develop or just be another bad pick.Wasn't Haynes regarding as one of the better Guards coming into this draft? Jeez. Luckily it's not as big a hit as Brooks stock was.
You hope he clicks. I know linemen take time to refine but if yet another O Lineman miss in the draft then it’ll be another on a long listThat is the word. The ghost of Tom Cable still haunts us. I honestly think it played a pivotal role in Schneider going down this dark path with the OL.JS brought in Connor Williams , who most thought was a genius move , a pretty good left tackle and a right tackle who was supposed to be the guy for the next 10 years . That's very possible. I've been wondering what he learned at his stops in Green Bay and KC.The ghost of Tom Cable still haunts us. I honestly think it played a pivotal role in Schneider going down this dark path with the OL.
"Good ol' Tom can make any lineman better."
"Cable can even turn defensive linemen into offensive linemen."

Somewhere along the line he decided he could slap some cheap cut rate dudes and call it good. Charles Cross is going to want a HUGE ass payday soon. Although he's probably the best we have at present, I don't see him as dominant and deserving of a top contract. I see him get pushed around and outright beat...a lot.
Seahawks are one game behind divisional leading Cardinals. This is currently with 9 players listed “out” or “IR” for Sunday. Can we wait awhile longer before declaring the sky is falling?Just saying what? Please do add some context or some of your opinion. Passing along a fan done article is hardly anything different then what everyone here is crying about or has be stated repeatedly.
John has been with the team since 2010 and been in the league since 2000. He's not some fresh faced GM and we do not know the split between him and Carrol when it came to draft picks and Free Agent signings.9 games post Carroll and people are wanting John out?.. Why?.. Ever since Carroll lost his control over the final roster this team has had great drafts & the roster is becoming strong.. I feel some fans are having a knee-jerk reaction to what's happened over the past 6 games and not understanding how difficult it is to overhaul a coaching staff really is, fans need to slowdown a bit and give John & Mike at least another season or two before calling for either job..

The point of contention is, sure John has had some good drafts but one thing he has always failed at producing in the draft or in free agency is linemen. Offensive Linemen have been not on the back burner, but that shit is cold and thawing in the fridge still. Regardless of what stock he puts into it, hardly any of the linemen he drafts pan out, and even if they do start to develop he has never re-signed any linemen he's drafted except Justin Britt.
Fans everywhere are getting sick of it. Even in the prime of Carrol and JS, the hawks line has never ranked higher than 18th or 19th in the league, with the last few years ranking between 28th and 31st! Each line has been patch together with scotch
We kinda do know the split, Carroll had full control on the final roster and when he lost that power our drafts starting getting better each year after (No more reaches in the early rounds)... And the oline problems are mostly on the Carroll reaches on linemen and also trading off early round picks for players we really don't need... Sure John is going to catch all the flack, but don't forget Pete failed as the final roster decision maker for a while especially after the LOB and that talent left the team...John has been with the team since 2010 and been in the league since 2000. No one thinks John is solely responsible for the past 15 years. What we don't understand is why people act like Carroll having final say on personnel means most bad personnel decisions were his fault. Right? Just invert the argument; Imagine if people started saying all the good decisions were Pete exercising his power, and all the bad decisions were him listening to John. It's silly, yet it's routinely brought up as a defense of John.We kinda do know the split, Carroll had full control on the final roster and when he lost that power our drafts starting getting better each year after (No more reaches in the early rounds)... I'm not saying John isn't to blame, sure he has plenty to answer for, but to say he's souly responsible for the last 15yrs is crazy talk..
