And I am holding on to the fact that we were a 9-8 team last year, poorly coached with some guys checked out towards the end. But we were 9-8! after an off-season of drafting and roster adjustments, we shouldn't be way worse than last season.
implementing all new systems on both sides of the ball? both of which are complicated? All new coaching staff shouldn't be overlooked in its dynamic. Shit takes time dude RELAX.

Just a little context for the doom and gloom'ers around here: Last year, coming out of Week 10, the Bills were 5-5, the Buccs were 4-5, the Packers and the Rams were both 3-6.

They all made the playoffs.

In 2022, the Buccs were again 4-5 after 9 games and the Jaguars were 3-7 (!) after week 10 and still made the playoffs. The Niners and Bengals that year were both 5-4 (only a 1 game difference) and both went to their respective Conference Championships.
That Niners team started 3-4 and could only manage 10 points in each of their first 2 losses and gave up 44 in Week 7.
That Bengals team lost to the Cleveland Browns, 32-13.

I'm not saying that any of these teams represent what's going to happen to us, but I just don't understand how many people have bailed on this season already.

For me, my slightly skewed pessimistic take is for a few different reasons. First, we're trending downward, losing five out of the last six games, four in a row at home, with no home field advantage to speak of. Secondly, we're a sloppy team, the third most penalized team in the league, and the sixth worst in turnover ratio. Third, our special teams play overall is towards the bottom of the league. Fourth, our offensive line play has been abysmal. And we just seem to have an overall lack of leadership in the locker room and on the playing field. Who are our leadership dogs?

Sure, they could turn it around, but the odds are against it.

That's the spirit! Am I glad that I ain't the only 12 predicting Hawks '24 is going deep into the playoff?
