He has always been a hell of a player. A one season flyer on the cheap? Absolutely. I think he would be a hell of an upgrade at RT, even if it was never really his position. Just can't assume we will see Lucas again for a while.

Intriguing idea. Wonder how healthy he is these days.
He must be all right, he’s still running around, digging up tombs.

Name the movie that this line is in without looking it up!

Brown was great with us, but less so after joining the jet, rather bad in 2023. Could it be the Jets? Probably, regress due to age? Maybe.

If you would to trust pff, his 2023 wasn't any better than Stone's.

I’d take him on the team

I was one of Duane's biggest fans here (he was consistently playing like a top-3 left tackle) but it's over for him. He's 39 and had nothing left in the tank in his last games.

I'm not moving at the spot unless I can swing a trade for a young stud like Zach Tom, and I'd trade our first to do it. Other than that, just try to hold the fort down until the storm passes.

Laumea is guard only for me, Jarrell is not remotely close to ready... just lean on Stone for now or see if our other backups could push him.

McClendon Curtis in particular has a really, really good frame for tackle. 6'6", 325, and 35 inch arms. I would hope to see them looking at him closely.

Bradford's feet are likely too slow, but he did play some tackle (albeit left tackle) at LSU. Started 5 games.

So...

Cross/Laken/Williams/Haynes/Bradford
Cross/Laken/Williams/Bradford/Curtis
Cross/Laken/Williams/Bradford/Forsythe

Two potential lineups, and then the lineup they had playing week 1.

Did Brown play RT in any point of his college or NFL career?

After converting from tight end early in his sophomore season, he slotted into the right tackle spot for Virginia Tech and started there for 2 years prior to switching to the left side. He has been a left tackle ever since.

So basically, he learned RT as his first experience playing OL, did it for 2 years, and hasn't done it in the 16 years since.

I think that may have something to do with his salary.
He's only played 13 games since his injury in 2020. Might not be much of an option despite his talent.

One name that immediately began to gain traction on social media is former Packers offensive lineman David Bakhtiari. The Green Bay legend who was a cap casualty in the offseason, is still available and remains one of the best offensive tackles on the market.

Bakhtiari‘s body is also shot to pieces at this stage. There’s a good reason why GB moved on.

He's had injury issues but he's not as old as some other options and is a better player than most. He still wants to play a few more years. The reason the Packers waived him was his cap hit and they had a cheaper replacement.

There are a lot of teams interested in his services. Of course it's a risk but the Hawks don't have a lot of options and he's better than most when healthy.

He was already falling off his last year with the Seahawks. Time has caught up. There must be a better-than-Stonefeet on someone's PS.

Agreed. there must be someone who is at least serviceable at a level higher than subway turnstile. They must have been hoping Stonesy would have to play when they kept him on the roster.
