With each passing day, I get more down on John Schneider. I suppose we have to give him more time in a post-Carroll world, but I am not optimistic. His continual failures with the O line ALONE is very concerning.
If you're going to lay the blame at the feet of JS, you should also include Hutch, who has been involved in the Hawks last several drafts and FA.

Tomlinson was a mistake. And both Bradford and Haynes are sub-par Oline-men at this point in time.

Grub is doing really well. The 4th down play call where they had Charbs line up as the offset back playing up and Walker in the backfield then quickly handing off to charbs was brilliant. went for 7 yards on 4th and 1 and completely fooled the Falcons defense

John Schneider and the Front Office-

Here is where I seat a ton of the blame. The biggest thing that is painfully obvious with this team is there is almost zero depth at any position outside of WR and RB. This offensive line is one of the lowest paid in the NFL and the play is a direct reflection of it. Our absolute refusal to sign any marquee lineman during free agency was detrimental during Carroll's time here and is rearing its ugly head early in this season as well. The fact that we don't even have rotational guys that come in for specialist pass rushing downs in this era of the NFL is inexcusable. Guys like Yannick Ngakoue, proven situational pass rushers, are sitting on the Ravens practice squad until last week and gets brought up to have a great game. He would have been here on the vet minimum in a heartbeat, but we aren't willing to take those risk, or some other unknown reason. We make absolutely no moves to try and set Mcdonald up for success with guys he thinks would be a good fit for his schemes, so I think it's hard to judge him to harsh.
I totally agree with LOTS of this.

The OLine is GLARING. And it's been this way seemingly forever. It needs to get fixed. With or without John IMO. It's just bad.

Agreed. I yelled "Great play call" at the TV as soon as that happened. It truly was outstanding.

It's the kind of creativity in the running game we haven't seen since forever. (y)
