Defense got cranked up and got the touchdown to go up 24-7 and it really seemed like the whole team was ready for a nap. The defense played in soft coverages after getting that lead and we were already in run the game out mode late in the 3rd handing the ball off repeatedly only to watch the QB to not throw the ball to open WRs and continue to just eat it or throw it away.

We made it very easy for the Cincy defense in that they just had to stop the run. And again, with that lead the defense hardly looked like they were taking it seriously. In the mean time, Dalton kept throwing to perfect spots and making tough plays. Hats off to the guy, but collectively as a team we took our foot off the gas, off their throats, or however you want to say it.

And that started with playcalling on BOTH sides of the ball. We can blame the coordinators, but it's not like Pete wasn't watching the whole 4th quarter. Momentum works how it works and you don't go into that mode in the late 3rd without at least a 30 point lead and even then....just don't.

I think the pivotal point was the drive in the 3rd quarter with about 9 to go. We totally left off the gas and the momentum was gone with 3 and out.
