Cheapest OL in the NFL, worst OL in the NFL

Losses like today fall on JS’s shoulders for continuing to be cheap at an incredibly important position. This is not an NFL quality starting line and against good DL’s, it is varsity vs JV. Geno has done a nice job manipulating a dying pocket against average DL’s, Giants absolutely dominated these clowns today.

Completely unacceptable to be this cheap there. You can’t run an offense when 1 or 2 guys are losing their blocks off the snap.

Go find practice squad guys who want to play in the NFL. It’s pathetic man. They were ranked 31st coming into today with only Patriots worse, 7 sacks and 9 hits absolutely drops them to dead last.

I think the most frustrating but honestly expected part of today's loss is this roster is still mostly a carryover of Pete's. Without burning the team down and looking for a top 2 pick, they had to keep a lot of the same players. The Giants have a very stout DL and OL. They are extremely physical and want to control the LOS. MM wants to control the LOS. The current roster does not control the LOS. The Pete Carroll team of last 4-5 years did not control the LOS.

Today was a picture perfect example of that issue where their RB's were going 5,6 yards a pop without even a defender touching them. DL was getting no pressure, LB lane recognition was awful, and the secondary was two steps behind a very underwhelming WR group. This roster is another offseason or two from running what MM wants, IMO.

Then on the flip side, Geno was under immediate pressure every single snap. It is night and day how these two teams are built.

Until JS opens the piggybank and gets some actual starting caliber linemen, this team has a wild card ceiling.

We really dropped the ball at RT this past offseason. Lucas is a stud when he's healthy, but there was little reason to expect to see that this season. Hell, we may never seen him healthy again. Obviously, nobody expected Fant to get hurt early in the first game, but he was an extremely underwhelming solution to begin with, and I doubt things are more than marginally better right now if he hadn't gotten hurt.

They need to release DK first if they want to go to the promised land. Back to back fumbles(Lions game and Giants game) which cost the Seahawks those two games is frustrating.

And the announcers said that he was frustrated throughout the Giants game. How bout securing the ball, for once?

We'll release our WR1? There is plenty of blame for the losses besides the two fumbles. If Tomlinson simply stands there and blocks his guy, then the FG doesn't get blocked. Instead, he faceplants himself. If the defense could stop the run of some unknown RB2, then the game isn't close. They couldn't even stop Danny Dimes form picking up positive yardage on most of his run plays. Both lines need to play better.

Let's not get stupid here. I do however think they need to do something and trading Lockett may be the way to go. I know everybody loves Lockett including me, but we have to do something about this O-line.

It’s time for JS to shine or fail. MM as well. Can’t blame Pete anymore.

Football's a strange game, on Monday the offence got 38 first downs against a team highly fancied to make the SB. Today we couldn't move the ball against a team one perosn on these forums described as a week 1 pre season team. Yes our OL is weak but being able to quickly distribute the ball to any of a number of quality WRs makes up for that somewhat. MM did a wonderful job of adjusting in the game against the Broncos but was unable to do so against the Giants.

I also don't like the blame Pete mentality often found on these forums. Pete was the best HC we have ever had and even in his last few seasons was consistently producing winning seasons, something very few teams manage. It was a pity he couldn't get he team to the next level and really challenge for the SB but it is a huge challenge for MM to make that step.

At the start of the season these boards were full of optimism based on "of course MM is a bette rcoach than PC" while most tof the pundits had us ranked about 20 as a team being led by a rookie HC, OC and DC would be likely to lead to a downturn in performance. I hope they are wrong, I fear they might be right.

Good post. PC was our best ever. No doubt. MM has his hands full. Young, never had this position, having his first child. That’s a lot for anyone.

I would trade DK and Walker for 2 decent lineman. And go with Charbonnet as the starter. Yes they are good players. But not good enough to win a game against the giants. But starting lineman might have.

Nobody taught him how to hold the ball? Is he so special that he wants two hands on it so he can be capable of handing it off?
