He passed away a few days ago. I was watching sportscenter or PTI and it was on the program. I think he did Monday night football back in the day. THey showed a picture with him and Howard Cosell. RIP.

Bob Trumpy, the 'father of Cincinnati sports talk,' dies

The former Bengals receiver-turned-broadcaster, who died Sunday at age 80, hosted sports shows on WCKY-AM and WLW-AM before joining NBC Sports full-time and becoming NBC's No. 1 NFL analyst. He paved the way for NFL analysts Cris Collinsworth, Dave Lapham, Sam Wyche, and Solomon Wilcots.

Thanks bringing him up. I meant to post something about this a few days ago. I have fond memories of his broadcasting. Back in the mid 80s, I would listen to Don Criqui and Bon Trumpy on AM radio calling MNF games when I was supposed to be sleeping. Remember, games then started at 9pm eastern and ended very late for a kid who had school the next day! I always loved when the Seahawks had a home game and hearing the Kingdome crowd in the background. They were a good duo. Trumpy had a booming voice and laugh. RIP.
