I was wondering if he would go transfer portal if Ewers returned and he wasn't going to be the starting QB. I mean, this guy was a huge five star recruit who would be starting at just about any other college in the country. I wonder how much NIL money he got to stay?

As it stands, he'll be in line to go pro after next season as a redshirt sophomore.

I think Ewers just lost his spot. I wasn't impressed with Ewers when they played UW last year. Their fans want it too.

As far as Manning goes. He's 100% guaranteed to be drafted based on name alone no matter how good/bad he is. Can see the Giants drafting him.

Texas has two great college QB's when its hard to find one. Great situation to be in. Both could be first round picks when they come out and Manning is probably a lock.

Nick Montana. Jack Elway. Chris Simms. Sam Huard. Arch Manning.
Come on man. What Huard belongs in the same breath as Montana, Simms or Mannings? Huards were career backups. Sam was never that good. Classic King County All Star.

Besides, Archie Manning, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning. I see a trend that doesn’t fit the other families

Fair point, but what I'm getting at is that sons of well known QBs (college or pro) seem to be regarded higher than their actual play warrants.

The hype train has started...which legacy team tanks to get him??? Or which small market team drafts him and he refuses to play for. It'll be the draft story for the ages in a couple years.

I don't see ewers doing well in the NFL. Admittedly haven't watched him this year but he looked like a college QB vs UW in the play offs with a limited ceiling
