List of 102 nominees includes Shaun Alexander, Mike Holmgren and Dave Krieg to be narrowed down to 4 to 8 inductees.
IMHO largely a weak class other than Ed Reed & Tony Gonzalez. Would have liked to see Dave Brown on the list as I think he deserves mention as much or more than Ricky Watters & Chris Warren in Seahawk terms.
So, does Holmgren or Alexander get in?

Dave Krieg? No chance he gets in HOF. He was a great Seahawk. His numbers aren't nearly where they need to be for him to get in.

Yes they are, over 38,000 yds and thats Marino numbers 261 TD's as well. Plus he was able to lead 3 teams to the playoffs. Will he get in, probably not but his numbers are as good as many that have.

It's the media who chooses the players that get into HOF. There are too many mediots that will be biased against Krieg due to playing mostly for the Seahawks (South Alaska) while Marino played for the Miami Dolphins (historical NFL franchise). That's what I meant by his numbers not being there. He would have to have about 50,000 yards to make it.

Krieg should never sniff the HoF. He was a mediocre QB that never won anything with bloated stats because he played forever. He'll never get in.

Haha....Hutchinson has the best chance to make it, which means Duane Brown will be wearing a number that will be retired.

One of the best LG/LT tandems ever.

Am I missing what you're saying here? Marino finished his career with over 60,000 yards (Krieg: over 38,000) and over 400 TDs (Krieg: 261) off of more than 8,300 attempts (Krieg: over 5,300). Marino threw around 250 interceptions when Krieg threw nearly 200. Krieg had nearly 80% of Marino's INT numbers while only posting about 2/3rds the same number of attempts. And Krieg had 153 fumbles to Marino's 110.

Marino was on another level than Krieg. He doesn't have the numbers nor was he on the same level with an "eye test".

I love Dave Krieg and everything he did for this franchise, and outside a couple of seasons he was simply a reasonably dependable QB. He was also a bit of a turnover machine. He was prolific in career time, though.

I love Dave Krieg, but the only way he should be allowed near the Hall of Fame is as a paying customer.

Disagree. Just because someone makes the HOF doesn't mean their number gets retired. Especially if they only played here for 5 years. If some of the more historically successful franchises did that, they'd run out of numbers.

#18 Joe Montana 40,551
#19 Johnny Unitas 40,239
#20 Aaron Rodgers 38,788
#21 Dave Krieg 38,147

Kinda hard to mistake Mudbones #'s with Dan Marino. Dave Krieg was a great pro, a fighter and will always have a special place in old school Seahawk fans hearts. He provided small market hope & excitement during the magical 80's, a time younger fan's missed out on. HOF?, probably not but the fact he's on this list gives credence to his career.
