Look. I get it. The Seahawks are struggling and the fans are impatient. In that scenario the fans need to find someone to assign blame to and so we are making our rounds at pointing the finger at coaches and players until enough people support our blame candidate or until it turns out to acutslly be true.

I am not saying JS doesn't deserve blame and shouldn't be held accountable for anything. But there was a time when JS was praised for turning over every rock and exploring every option.

That type of approach will definitely turn out well sometimes finding a diamond in the rough or something good in a player that other teams passed over.

Conversely - this approach will also lead to picking up some that don't work out at all.

Maybe it is time to search for that GM that is very selective and only chooses to draft and trade for players that come with a 100% success rate.

First bullet?

Honestly - I don't get the fact that people want to give this regime 3 years to 'gel'.

It's become quite clear that Pete was the personnel/roster guy - and that JS was a rubber stamp kinda GM.

From the top down this year, there doesn't seem to be a direction - from the trade deadline to FA, and no one can seem to hold their sub-ordinates accountable for what they are doing. We are rudderless. There's no leader.

Look - I'm a fan. Perhaps not the 35 year fan that many on the board are - but I have no patience for what's going on - and the "whistling past the graveyard" approach that everyone on the Hawks staff are taking.

I hope we go on a tear, and run the table on the last 1/2 of this season - but that's just not gonna happen.

Hope I'm wrong - but MM seems very Mora-esque to me - and the rest can't seem to figure out 'where' they've gone wrong or how to fix it.

It's almost like "they're not football people". PC ain't sounding so crazy now.

JS was little more than an Administrator, Pete ran the show, JS effectively reported to Pete. And those early draft classes were all based to Pete's in-depth knowledge of college players. I don't know why people think of JS as a HOF GM. He's just a bureaucrat.

This off season wasn't smooth, was it? The process from the hiring a HC, to assembly of a team for that HC.

Shall we say the process is a D+? The hiring was delayed, the team assembled? Two key pieces were failures.

The only thing that will save Schneider's job? Macdonald turned out to be a A+ head coach, the the D+ off season would be forgotten. But would Macdonald the A+ HC want to work under a D+ GM?

I mean, RW wanted to be out of here for a reason at the end -- it's because JS didn't build him an oline worth a damn and what do you know -- our oline still sucks.

It's not just John. You have to look at the entire player personnel dept.

Wow, two Schneiders!!
Willie Schneider has been promoted to director of pro personnel. Umm, pro personnel, as the man behind signing of Dodson, Connor, Laken, Baker, Pharaoh Brown and others?

12th man rising is one of the most fan fiction seahawks news sources out there. I take everything they say with a grain of salt.

That said, Schneider probably has nothing to worry about this year, but if the trend continues next year he might.
Agreed. After Pete was fired, John had to scramble to reassemble the team for this year. By the time they hired McDonald, other teams were way ahead of them resulting in slim pickings and poor choices. He hired McDonald but didn't draft or sign the players that fit well with Mike's scheme.

John should have a full offseason to shape the team to meet their shared vision. It will likely take a few seasons to make that transition but, after years of whiffing on the o-line and recent questionable trades, the team needs to be significantly better next year or he should go.

Brother , you don't have to be a fan for 35 years to have a take regarding the team you love.

Your views are your views .

I do disagree with what you're saying though, I believe it was time for PC to go . Having the season we're having is frustrating , Im guessing that's where a lot of your ire is coming from and I understand that. I remember it taking Holmgren AND Pete Carroll at least 3 seasons before their respective versions of the Seahawks took significant steps forward and think JS/MM deserve at least the same time.
