    My apologies to Russell Wilson

    Nick Bosa out for season

They'll get guys back, a lot of them. The issue though is losing Bosa means beating top teams will be difficult. Kyle is doing a great coaching job getting these wins.

    Well...this should cause some "reaction"

Yeah it seems that Geno Smith sorta reverted back to his late Jets' days (attitude wise) - it's insane to think he got punched in the face by a teammate for owing him money. Carroll did well to use Geno in his Seattle days, and likely will as well in Vegas....until someone else comes along.

    RW Benched w/ Giants

You were ahead of your time. It's tough to be alone with such bold thoughts. Now, finding a Wilson defender on .NET must be very very hard.

    Well...this should cause some "reaction"

I haven't followed closely so apologies for an obvious question: What did Geno Smith do that made him hated so much now? Contract issue? He did make the post Wilson era look acceptable at the very least and beat him head to head in the revenge game.

    49ers keep getting lucky

Purdy is mediocre in your eyes, yet Geno Smith for all his 400 yard games just can't be a franchise guy. Couldn't hack it in Seattle. Let's see what happens with Darnold, another first round Jets masterpiece. Purdy is a better QB. Yeah maybe if Purdy was drafted to the Jets and those guys...

    RW Benched w/ Giants

To his credit, it's unbelievable how he appeared to be a good QB for the majority of his Seahawks tenure. Jealous of how Carroll and Schneider pulled it all off. Many better QBs have failed to get it done.

    49ers keep getting lucky

The Niners were a bit lucky this season, absolutely. But they were also quite a bit unlucky last year as well (and lost many of those games), and this year are winning in spite of a bunch of unlucky injuries as well. Resilience and winning when you should've lost games? Reminds me a lot of...

Per SI: Steelers Done with Russell Wilson

I'd rather look at it as "holy s***, the defense and Lynch were underrated"

Per SI: Steelers Done with Russell Wilson

Geno is an anomaly. Plays the position better than Wilson, but never had the teams Wilson had when he had his 99-2 record vs the Niners. Wherever/whenever the 49ers faced Wilson, the 2013 Seahawks defense was always somewhat present, and Wilson only needed one drive to win those games.

Per SI: Steelers Done with Russell Wilson

Thank you for so eloquently saying what I've been saying for years, haha. Perfectly stated, exactly as I would have said it. The 1 of 1 is a highly underappreciated statement........we will likely never see another Wilson type QB, at least not for a very long time. He did 1-2 things at a...

Why do we care about Russ anymore?

Your post summed up my #1 frustration I had with Wilson his entire career, particularly as it related to his role in the Seahawks' success. In all honesty, if Wilson played for nearly any other team I wouldn't hate him as much (or possibly at all). But since he played for the Seahawks who were...

    Only 1 true villain remains

There was some luck involved for sure, and the Niners could've lost. Was it the luckiest NFC West playoff win in the last decade? Not by a long shot, haha.

    Go Lions

We know the feeling too, circa 2015-2018.

    Carroll Out As Head Coach

Carroll I think can't (easily) reinvent the powerhouse team in the early 2010s. Too many pieces gone, and the defense/RB running the show can't get it done anymore (Shanahan tried numerous times already). Carroll would make more sense in Tennessee, 2018 Jaguars, NY Jets, Lions, than the...

    Carroll Out As Head Coach

More an indictment on Wilson than Carroll.....at least after he got paid and the LOB left and Lynch retired.

Who do you want as the HC?

I don't want to manifest this....but Schwartz' record against Kyle Shanahan is better than any other DC in the league by a mile. Many of those wins came from having a better team, but the 2016 Falcons lost to the Eagles, 2021 Titans (he was an assistant) beat the Niners, and the Browns stifled...

    Eagles

The only reason fans of better teams ever get nervous before games. Vegas had the Niners as road favorites in Philly, and still have them as double digit favorites after the Packers blew out the #2 seed in the NFC. The Packers can be hot, but what's their DVOA ranking. That 9-1 record...

    Ravens DC Mike McDonald

Flacco sucks, and Lamar isn't much better.

Carroll, Wilson, plus Lockett to Atlanta Falcon

Oh isn't it ironic that Pete felt the need to take veiled shots at Wilson when he spent the first few seasons of Wilson's career defending him?? That's the kinda guy Wilson is....ungrateful. He basically created a rift in the team between defense and him, then abandoned the guy who championed...
