While he may be able to serve as a backup for several more years, he won't accept anything outside a starting job.
IMO, this may be Russ' last season in the League.
Kind of expected they'd move Pickens after the DK trade and new contract. He was already a headcase, adding DK to the mix plus handing him big money wasn't going to help that situation. Good deal for Dallas, basically a 3rd rounder.
It's an interesting idea, but competent offensive line play is very cerebral therefore it takes years of practice and play to master. You'd be starting at ground zero with those guys, even if they're elite athletes.
IMO, you'd be better off investing that kind of time and money in converting...
Great read.
On another note, how did I not know Schneider worked for the Seahawks for a year in 2000 before his hire in 2010? Learn something new every day I guess.
Well said, totally agree. Add to it that Mike was a first time head coach last year so he was still getting his legs under him. Not now, he's up and cruising and getting his team dialed.
Solid A. I've been on Schneider's case for a couple years now but I have to give him credit for an extremely well handled offseason (DK & Geno trades, salary cap management) and now the draft. Really excited to see the product on the field, we haven't been this reinvented since Pete & John's...
That would be expecting lightning to strike twice at the QB position which is a fireable offense in this league. 9ers are going to have to pay Purdy, period.
