Isn't being the best non-playoff team wonderful?

Hang on, two different possibilities (at least) here. Firstly, we're currently 8-7, so we might not even get to 9-8 this year. Secondly, if I have my sums right (!?)... If we and the Rams both win, or both lose next week, and if we then beat the Rams in the final game of the regular season, we...

DK urging fans not to sell their tickets

IMO, if you sell a ticket at any more than face value, plus any costs to transfer it to the buyer, you're a... scalper. I sincerely salute you! Plus, you probably had to get up before you went to bed the night before... :) (sorry, could not resist the stupid comment)

    Lockett

This to me is just so sad. I'm not saying you're wrong, as you're equally entitled to have a different opinion, of course! Someone here once said something about it (the NFL) becoming a thing of simply "our multi-millionaires" against "your multi-millionaires" each week (as I approximately...

    Lockett

Toffee, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I agree with Sperrydogg above.

    DK out vs. Rams

It's incredible but true! I think Tyler Lockett is a wonderful player, and person. If you can't reliably run the ball, or keep the opponent's running game under control, or convert few third downs but allow quite a few of them, you are not going to win many games unless the other team make key...

Rat - Courageous post, and thank you. I would be a hypocrite if I ever thought otherwise.

Goodell wants 18 regular season games, eliminate 1 preseason game

17 games is weird, but 16 was fine, IMHO. It is a LONG and punishing marathon of a season, and 40+ years of statistics from 16-game seasons were terminated by going to 17, which seems a shame to me. I'm rather fed up with it all apparently being about money-money-money!

Oh joy, another Chiefs Niners Super Bowl

It's only the third of all the Superbowls I have previously missed watching with two particular friends here in Adelaide, since the Bears/Patriots rout in the 1985/6 season. Both former absences were because I was away at a conference. In 1991, I was in Dunedin, New Zealand - my first-ever...

Oh joy, another Chiefs Niners Super Bowl

I'll be on the Majestic Princess cruise ship, at sea between Sydney and Fiji, so I daresay I'll be on the main deck near the bar/pizza place, etc. Probably get drunk enough not to care who wins, but such a shame about Detroit (and Buffalo).

    Longhorns / Huskies

I'm following play-by-play on CBS website on free hotel wi-fi (streaming of course impossible). Might go to watch on hotel big screen, but their audio is muted, and I have beer in my own esky! I'm barracking for the Huskies, but I've just realised UTexas is in Austin, which was Adelaide's first...

Poll: Does It Matter Next Week?

1985/6 was the second season of NFL I ever followed. First season was 1984/5; when everyone said Dan Marino would "absolutely" have other chances at a Superbowl win, after the 49ers savaged the Dolphins. But it was the 1985/6 Bears defense which totally captured me into loving the game. So...

    Go Pack

I thought we simply have to beat Arizona next week to make the playoffs?

    Washington Huskies vs. Texas Longhorns

Yes, go Huskies! I don't know anything about NCAA football, but I'll barrack for a Seattle team. I do know a professor of atmospheric physics at UW, but he does not know much about football!

Poll: Does It Matter Next Week?

Thank you, White Devil, and Happy New Year right back at you! I have read we would be in the playoffs, if the regular season was still 16 games. I know "if" is the longest word, etc, but it seemed a shame to me that the schedule got changed to 17 games. It s a brutal game; the season was plenty...

    Participation Bowls

I know little about College football, but a longtime email friend from Dearborn, MI has a son who is an offensive lineman for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. His name is Alex Howie: https://emueagles.com/sports/football/roster/alex-howie/14780 He's a graduate student now, so he's a veteran. Just...

    Merry Christmas .NET

Merry Christmas, everyone! It's a beautiful 20C/68F in Adelaide. In 2016, Christmas Day was 40.5C/105F! Our son even lit the fire (not necessary, but fun)!

Players you liked who played for teams you didn't like

Lagartixa - thank you for this wonderful thread. I've loved reading everyone's posts. Not so much teams I particularly don't like, but players I really liked included, in no particular order: Walter Payton Ronnie Lott Barry Sanders Ozzie Newsome Reggie White Mike Singletary (those blazing...

    Chris from Leicester!

Chris, your Foxes did very well in 2015-6, to say the least! I sort-of barrack for West Ham, when I remember to. Anyway - welcome to the forum, from another international Seahawks fan!
