The scrimmage yesterday was the first barometer check in the QB test. Just the first of several that will take place. Lock seems to have won the day by a small margin, but there is a long way to go before crowning anyone the starter. I like that it was close. It is comforting to know we have demonstrated depth at all positions, including QB, going into what will be a long season.
Regarding Lock, I am SOOOO glad we have him instead of Baker M.

Why is it every time someone tries to validate pessimism they tag it "just being realistic"?

I'll take that bet. We beat then by double digits.
LOL Russ is going to put on a clinic. This team just isn't good. Might start out slow but our inability to move the ball will result in Russ getting the ball a bunch. He'll eventually score enough points. This team can't come from behind, it has zero ability to move that ball and sustain drives.

by depth, do mean both are equally bad? our only solace this season will be watching a young defense find its identity

Awesome. Solid, fact and evidence based post.

Russ will get sacked 4-5 times. Pete will know how to make it very difficult for Russ in the pocket, the same way the Rams and Cards have done the last few years. Now I don’t know if our QBs can score points, but I don’t see Russ putting on any “clinic” unless that clinic is of him showing how slow he has gotten and how he can’t escape the pocket anymore.

I love the optimism. But let's be real.

Teams are going to stack the box and force either of our terrible QBs to beat them over the top. Which they won't.

Call me a hater or a troll. Whatever you want.

Heck I wish the Hawks destroy Denver week 1 as well. They're not that great of a team either.

But our QB situation right now is an abomination. Let's be real about that.
100% agree.

The one thing Russ has never been able to do well is the one thing he'd have to do to beat us.

Our D has been one of the best in the league at not surrendering big plays and forcing offenses to methodically dink and dunk. Even last year, we kept a lid on the big plays.

That's all Russ is now is a big play machine. And his stats shows pretty clearly that he struggles to move the ball consistently in a methodical manner. That requires being able to see the entire field, read the entire field, and hit the entire field. Never been his strong suit.

But keep the dream alive. Coming down to the last few weeks of Unlimited....

The Broncos are going to be a shit show too. New coaches, new system, new QB that we know very well. The timing of this game is perfect for us. Nobody will be in synch week 1.

Funny. I've been a fan of this team my entire life. Don't question my loyalty to this team.

It's ok to be a fan and critical at the same time.

I tried starting another thread discussing our corner depth this season and got minimal feedback. Yet the 200th thread about the QB situation gets all the talk. Go figure.

I've shown you noting but respect Sutz. And Toffee.
We are actually on the same page. For toffee, this is the off season and training camp and my homerism is running overtime and at its peak lol. Different folks have different ways to show our love, it's all good.

Go Hawks.

Look…when it comes to negative comments from us so-called “fans”, think of it like this.

I play the lotto. I know I’m not going to win but, I still play it.

I’m a Seahawks fan. I know it’s going to be rough this year but, I’m still a Hawks fan.

I’d love to hit the lotto just like I’d love us to be good…..but….

How the Broncos do over all? I don’t know. Russ went from the toughest division to the now toughest division. I’d love to see us intercept him at least 3 times. But, I believe he’s going to get his.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Geno, Lock, what Russ does….I loved the draft. I love our positions in the draft next year. I’ll be happier than a pig in poop if we get Levis. Lots to watch this year with the rookies..,Pete and JS got back in their bag.

But, I’d advise you to have low expectations with a promise that the future is bright.

Definitely all good. I’ve learned a lot from the strongest of homers on here…no matter how much I sit back when reading their posts and think “who the f$&k does this guy think he is”.

Great site. Love it all.

Some of y’all are crazy though 😉

Yeah, honestly this game could be of the two teams that finish last in the NFC west and AFC west.

Rams without Stafford might stumble around for at least the early part of the season. Zona is out of whack and has shown little inkling of getting it right. 9ers are starting a rookie QB and have their share of issues.
We will be young overall, but very fast and with good depth. Our D looks like it will hold it's own. We should be able to do damage running the ball and take what they give us in the passing game will move the chains. I don't see what law says we can't be competitive in our division this year.

I like to think that our defense will be better this season than last, it may take 5-6 games to get there, but boys will.

I would love to see our defense limit points allowed to below 20 from 21.5 of last season. For all 12s thought our defense were poor last season, our 21.5/game was better than all four teams played in conference championship games, while our boys played LONG LONG LONG minutes.

Below 20 points/game will place us at top 5 in points allowed, even at 21.5 we were 12th. LET THAT SINK IN.
