Levi Lewis is gone. A bit shocked but he was a free try out so no real loss. This leaves 89 players on the team and opens up a spot for a new player.

Lewis was a valuable arm to have in the rookie minicamp and he could be a practice squad pickup down the road. Right now they probably want QB reps in training camp to go towards the open QB competition and if we bring in a fourth QB it will be somebody with a better chance at the job.

Glad to see they kicked the tires and then we’re not afraid to move on.

There's a chance that we might be bringing in Baker Mayfield. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after June 1st, the Browns can convert his salary into a signing bonus and spread it over two years, saving them some cap space. Perhaps this move is to make room for him. We now have just 3 QB's on the roster, and we usually go into camp with at least 4.

Mayfield only has 1 year (2022) left on his contract. So any restructure is not tied to a particular date. Carolina Panthers have 3 times as much effective cap space. That's the more probable destination for Mayfield.

Seahawks have players under contract worthy of an extension before the season begins.

Personally, I'd rather we didn't.

LOL was your title click bait learned from the media??? Why not say Levi Lewis was waived as a subject line? I guess cause most would not care.

I see so many subject lines in media "Famous Coach has died" and after falling for the click bait, it was some OC from a div 2 school who I never heard of before. Yet he was "Famous"

Sucks but there must be something else going on that we are not privy too. To cut him so early in the process does not bode well.

He was 5'8 180 pounds and ran a 4.85 40 with an average arm.

Slow and small will get you killed in this league. An undrafted QB getting cut bodes just fine.

Levi Lewis was never going to be an NFL QB. Too short, not great accuracy (by NFL standards), played in a college style offense and his play action was awful. Exciting kid to watch in college, but just not a Sunday guy.

Woah, careful with that type of analysis. JPatera will come in here and try to strip you of your fan card.

And I agree with you 100% Sonic

I was quite surprised that we invited him in for a look see., And not surprised that we are not keeping him.

I hope this ends all the tinkering with midget QBs. Not all are cut from the same cloth. The Seahawks got lucky with Wilson. There are more chances to grab Seneca Wallace's than Russell Wilson's so I'd rather have a QB that sees all areas of the field since they just traded one that avoided the middle like the plague.
